Boltyn sucks confirmed.
Almost as unplayable as Dromai.
Jokes: aside it was a dream of mine to have a finals match with
@Hadesblade
and it was awesome to finally make it happen.
Bonus meme:
SOME BLUES ARE FREAKING GOOD IN BOLTYN
To prove a point, here's the 80 I just registered for US Nats.
If you think your "secret tech" or what you're playing matters, it more than likely doesn't.
After a long day of battling in a Fresh and Blood tournament, I can finally say I made it to the top!....
Of Tokyo Tower after scrubbing the actual tournament. I think I'll be okay though.
People either have the memory of a goldfish or just don't listen.
@james_white
goes over why they removed XP invites in his recent interview with
@FlukeAndBox
.
TLDW; LGS play should be for fun and learning, not grinding for invites.
Hey there!
Look at you, you beautiful person.
I hope you had a wonderful day and that something good happened.
If it wasn't a good day, I'm sorry, and I hope tomorrow is better. <3
Does anyone ever give LSS the benefit of the doubt? Don't get me wrong, I love a good hot take, but has anyone stopped to think that MAYBE Savage Sash will also be an Expansion Slot card or available elsewhere?
Or do we all think LSS never thinks anything through?
I didn't forget about the Feng Strike in Pat's arsenal. I took a high-risk gambit because I literally didn't have enough DMG in my deck to kill him if I blocked. I would have been perfectly happy to die on the spot since for the same reason.
I have a thesis.
Deck information matters WAY less in FaB than player skill and the actual deck building.
That being said, I am planning on playing in BH Cinci next weekend and here is my decklist link.
Would love some help and feedback.

in the finals of the LL Battle Hardened.
Could you imagine TWO best friends and teammates meeting in the finals? Probably the first time this has happened.
It's 2024
Your Zen OP has just dealt 30 DMG to you on turn two.
You start your turn two and proudly put your 2nd counter and Duskblade to attack for 4.
Plus, Duskblade would make Guardians unplayable. Could you imagine a meta like that?
Made t8 of the BH with the worst pile of cards I've seen in my life.
This was my pool.
I reg'd enigma and played 2 Mystic Illusionist cards total in my deck. 🤷♂️
Random thought I had today.
People who are sick of Zen in CC will look to LL format for a nice refreshing hero selection, only to get beaten up by Stubbies Zen in LL. 🙃
This is probably the last post about Nuu for a while since I'm skipping Amsterdam.
Make sure you arent just playing on a turn-2-turn basis. It's important to realize what your macro strategy is. I think a lot of ppl think Nuu sucks for the same reason ppl thought Iyslander sucks
To prove a point, here's the 80 I just registered for US Nats.
If you think your "secret tech" or what you're playing matters, it more than likely doesn't.
Hey there!
I think YOUR favorite deck is cool and interesting.
If you're interested in playing games with me, I'm interested in playing games with you, because at the end of the day, we're lucky to be playing with little pieces of cardboard at all in the first place.
First official hot take on the personal account:
Kano is the worst hero in Flesh and Blood currently legal in CC. Sitting there as your OP takes 20 minutes to flip cards while you have actual zero agency is horrendous.
After spending a week grinding Nuu, I think she's cool, but IMO she has some holes in her game plan.
She can clunk on all reactions or all stealth cards.
Having no blocks is a huge liability in some MUs
Her hero box is textless sometimes.
She is really fun, but for now MILB
I will be pretty upset if Zen gets a ban next week. It would be the second time in the games history where an aggro decks performed well early in a season and there's bans/eratas before things actually settle.
1/x
Live look at FaB players every week when a cool/powerful card or interaction happens.
Clearly, we should just ban everything until all decks are the exact same mid-rangey value soup with nothing special or unique.
Continuing the trend of always being right and ahead of the curve on all my opinions, Enchanting Melody will finally be put into decks and played as the shining star I always knew it was.
HOT TAKE 🔥
Calling it now. Mistveil boxes will have 32 pack per box and that will be the new norm going forward.
4 packs per person in an 8 person pod.
4 people could get 8 packs for sealed.
And then fix fat decking by capping deck sizes.
So people hate ice.
They hate Warmongers.
They hate Codex of Frailty.
Is there a single way for a deck to be disruptive or incentivize interaction that's ever tolerated by the FaB community?
Or should ever match just be two ships passing in the night to see who goes faster?
Diplomacy in CC is important for putting stops on potentially degenerate strategies. In LL, the very point of the format is degeneracy, in part because that play style is baked into heroes which will not leave the format. In LL, we aren’t trying to solve for those play patterns.
Update: 2-0
R1 - Katsu was very forgetful and didn't remember his cards names after being hit with some Amnesias.
R2 - Beat a Victor. At one point the game was 15-34 and I still found a way to claw back.
To prove a point, here's the 80 I just registered for US Nats.
If you think your "secret tech" or what you're playing matters, it more than likely doesn't.
I almost cried when Zach made this announcement to the Pack. Traveling and becoming good friends with him has been amazing over these past few years.
I would have much less interest in Sorcery, SWU, and Alpha Clash if it weren't for him and his involvement.
For a lot of reasons, most of which are personal, I’ve made the difficult decision to take a step back from playing the Flesh and Blood TCG competitively. While this brings me great sadness, one of the big reasons I’m “retiring” is both joyous and miraculous.
Back in 2021,
I'm personally insulted LSS didn't host a Calling directly in my backyard. Clearly they don't care about me and my specific region. Only explanation.
Their entire OP program is driven by people who don't care about MEEEE and my coast. I mean, backyard.
Similarly, a well built Nuu deck BODIES Zen and it shouldn't be particularly close. Let the format play out and give the PT competition time to solve it.
I think a ban or Errata to Zen is lame when it just turns him into an unplayable deck like Fai. 🤷♂️
3/3
This was something that was glossesd over when Bryan left Twitter
The CONSTANT barrage of complaints being issued over EVERY DECK make people just not want to play the game way more than whatever "toxic" thing you're posting about this week.
I never thought FaB would be one of those games where I'd feel bad for playing a specific style of deck, but my god with the amount of people whining about Prism it's making me feel bad for playing Illusionist and makes me not want to try and play the game, it feels so toxic.
By the way, I REALLY want to hear if hundreds of players show up to PQs next week not knowing that Dromai is LL'd.
I remember the OUTCRY when the LL change first happened with people with this concern, so please let's find out if it's as much as a non-issue I thought it would be
Living Legend Update: Dromai, Ash Artist and Storm of Sandikai will no longer be legal for official Classic Constructed tournament play as of Friday, April 19th.
*My reaction every time I see a tier list on Twitter today*
Spoilers for the cast this week. Michael and I both have Victor in D-tier.
Tune in to find out who all the actually S-tier heroes are.
YOTO (You only turn (34) once)
I will see ya'll in Japan. Happily taking my pool in Japanese language packs, and hopefully drafting them day 2.
(No, I do not currently speak Japanese.)
Aw, thank you
@james_white
for giving me a great reason to go to Japan on my birthday weekend.
I know that is 100% of the reason for scheduling it on that weekend, so I have no reason to not be in attendance. (Have to talk it over with the wife though)
Unsure how to feel about a FaB spoiler being shoehorned into a Best of MtG video.
It's like seeing an advertisement for Nike during a video recapping the new shoes Adidas put out in 2023.
Serious question, will LSS ever win? 😂
I personally like the B+R changes to LL, but I also liked the weekly LL points check… maybe I’m crazy. But one thing is for certain, the community on Twitter don’t like a damn thing haha
The community is FINALLY wise to the fact that LSS is incompetent at tracking tournament results.
My cousin's ex-fiance confirmed that they don't know how to read and selected Kano instead of Boltyn.
Who, as we all know, actually won every single RTN last weekend.
The Classic Constructed metagame is HOT! 🔥🔥🔥
17 different heroes claimed wins during the first week of Road to Nationals, with Kano leading the pack!
With so many viable options, who are you repping next week?

The M-n-R Cast: The BEST Results
Join Michael Hamilton and Roger Bodee for the 99th episode of the M-n-R (Manner) Cast. This week, Michael and Roger discuss what went right and wrong for them at the 2024 US Nationals.
HH Positive Vibe:
A lot of the cards push the 3 classes into new and interesting ways. I love the templating on all the Warrior cards.
HH Negative Vibe:
I miss defense reactions. Block cards are cool, but it feels like some player agency is lost.
This card's design is perfect. Actually 10/10.
I don't mean that it's "broken" or anything. Just that it has consistent baseline stats and always rewards you when you want to "do the thing."
If this is where Brute design is now, they are quickly becoming my favorite class.
And we still don't have a full spoiler yet!
So either I have to:
A) Learn how to read Japanese fully in one week
B) Memorize 300-400 cards in 4-5 days.
E👏Z👏
6-2 into day 2 of the Calling on Hybrid Boltyn.
Punted horribly into Kaiser Wong from the best team in the World (Blue Pitch)
But rallied still live for t8.

If somehow I don't win the PT, I plan on winning the LL BH on Sunday with ol' reliable.
Please be sure to play lots of Chane and Fai. I look forward to ruining entire turn cycles with one Frostbite again 😀
Update: 4-0
R3 - beat the mirror. They didn't cut surgical extraction 😅
R4 - beat a Zen by attacking them a bunch with cards that say "don't play the game."
Back home to good old middle of nowhere Indiana.
This past week has seriously motivated me to learn more Japanese before going back. I was starting to get really frustrated with my lack of ability to understand and communicate on my last day in Japan.
That said I think
@PEshghy
handled it like a champ and had very legit reasons for not pulling the trigger. I still immensely respect him and know that bluffs like that don't work unless you know your OP is a "thinking player."
🎉 Here are your top 8 for the

PTI tournament! They are now fighting to secure the PTI as well as the coveted Gold Cold Foil Prize Card (C/M). Congrats on getting this far, and best of luck in the playoffs! 👍
@matt_iwnl
Nah I'm on my way to the top of the Tokyo Tower so that's the opposite of based.
I think I can see where Flakes career will end up from up here though.
This made me reflect on my player "skill."
I don't think I am a consistently "good" player, but if I put in work I think can go toe to toe with anyone.
Understanding your strengths and weaknesses and who you are is critical when dedicating a lot of time to something.

and I that I am super excited about but not finalized yet.
If all goes well we could be helping shape the future of a non-FaB TCG. My hot take powers can be used constructively!
Join Michael Hamilton and Roger Bodee for the 80th episode of the M-n-R (Manner) Cast. This week Michael and Roger discuss which heroes will rise and fall in the upcoming Heavy Hitters metagame.
Do I spend the next few weeks grinding non-stop Boltyn to try and find 1-2% margins of increased equity?
Or do I learn how to play Dorinthea?
Decisions, decisions, decisions...
So, after some positivity on my last Tweet, let's fire off a spicy hot take.
For stores, retailers, and collectors, 2023 was a horrific year for FaB. I have advocated for cards to maintain value and be worth TRADING or COLLECTING in TCG/CCGs and will continue to do so.
I wonder how many events a pro-team would need to win in order to be considered "the best team." 🤔🤔
Obviously, US Nationals, Worlds, and a PT isn't enough. Once the pack picks up another PT win we can stop saying silly answers that aren't just "the wolf pack is the best team."
Bryan, Kieran, Karol and Jason join us on the couch to talk about the upcoming Pro Tour Los Angeles! Hear about the current Classic Constructed Meta, predictions of the Top 8 and which players they think can rise to the top!

What a weekend at ProTourLA! Huge shoutout to the teammates
@JoelRepta
, and Sebastian G for top 4, top 8 of ProTour. Also, my boy and fellow teammate
@MattDilks
absolutely crushed and locked up the W in the Calling! Successful testing all around I’d say! See y’all in Amsterdam!
@MaskOfMomentum
No no no, let Kano dominate 4 months, then ban something like Spellfire Cloak, let him dominate two more months, then throw your hands in the air and say, "well he's basically LL at this point, so too late to do anything."
It's probably not something anyone following "needs" but thought this video was well done and helps people understand the jargon we just take for granted.
@BryanGFaB
LSS could put $100 bills into booster packs and people would complain that the bills were folded incorrectly. They prefer 5 crips $20 bills and it would be very sad to them if you just put one mopey old $100 bill in the packs instead.
Never lucky.
This is extremely funny to me.
I think this is more an indictment of DtD's power level than anything else. The set was designed with "pulled punches," so the original card set from MON still largely drives the strength of the light/dark heroes.
