God said, “set aside the Bible’s dietary laws, & invite Gentiles into the kingdom.” He said, “set aside the Bible’s circumcision laws, & bring gentiles into the kingdom.” For God, it’s always love & inclusion above the letter of the law. Why are LGBTQ+ people any different?

If your theology calls for you to “show visceral disgust” & “want to vomit” when you encounter trans people-all of whom are beloved by God-you aren’t following Jesus. You’re serving an anti-Christ theology.

Preached on how we misuse the Bible when we use it to beat up on LGBTQ+ people. A couple of people walked out in the middle. Not sure if it was bc of the content. I will not stop speaking, even if some don’t like it. LGBTQ+ inclusion is too important for Christians to be quiet!

I believe LGBTQ+ inclusion in the church will continue to happen slowly, then very quickly. As the older, more stuck in tradition, generations move off the scene, our LGBTQ+ siblings will be fully embraced in churches by younger generations. The tide is turning!

I’m perplexed at the number of Christians who are convinced we’re in the “end times” bc of women pastors or LGBTQ+ inclusion in the church. This is NOT apostasy. This is God’s blessings breaking out in this world like a new dawn

What if all the pro-LGBTQ ads & merch from all the stores is a sign that God is pouring out a spirit of freedom & liberation on the US? What if evangelicals are missing a revival bc it doesn’t look the way they want it to?

I don’t see things like the #UMC decision this week to affirm gay clergy as a sign of decline or apostasy, as some do. I see it as the continuing of a revival in the church, as Jesus breaking through man-imposed obstacle to freedom & liberation

@PastorSJCamp @CJ_Cregg_Cook So you take 1 word in Greek (arsenakoitai) that had never been used before, the meaning of which is still unknown-except that when other writers use it, it means a financial sin not a sexual one. Then you condemn a whole group of people as not saved. That’s bad exegesis, brother

If you are an LGBTQ+-affirming Christian, you need to speak up about it. In your churches. On social media. Everywhere. Speak boldly and lovingly. Our siblings deserve your support. You might face damage. Criticism. Loss. But doing what’s right isn’t always easy. Speak up!

Bc I am pro-LGBTQ+ inclusion & don’t believe in an eternal hell, I am told all the time that I don’t believe in or condemn sin. But I preach the need for people to turn around & follow the self-sacrificial way of Jesus as much as anyone. Do some think there’s only 1 sin?

Conservative evangelicalism is dying. May already be dead. And I’m not crying over it. Cause of death? Emphasis on doctrine over love, LGBTQ+ exclusion, political activism, and the desire to create “Christian” subculture instead of engaging secular culture

I’m still amazed at how quick non-LGBTQ+ affirming Christians are to resort to names and dehumanizing insults. I got called a slur a bit ago by someone who assumed I’m gay bc I’m affirming. It’s this lack of love that will ultimately be the downfall of non-affirming Xians

Saw a comment here yesterday (don’t remember who) that “God is not a God liberation, he’s a God of laws & rules”. This is such a sad, hopeless view of our endlessly beautiful God. But it seems this idea is at the heart of many debates in todays church

The idea that LGBTQ+ Christians need to be “acceptable” or “respectable” for the church as a whole still puts them in a lesser status where they need the approval of others to belong. That’s completely wrong. I know others know this well. I’m really just processing it
