does have a massive possibility here in really changing the way media connect with people. One of the key things I’ve noticed is drive for the truth over what is being told as a big opportunity.

And yet expand oil and gas production in the North Sea, would have been a great opportunity to push into Green and renewable energy market further and have the UK leading this area more

As a parent of a toddler and experienced this behaviour from my child, this response from those around sounds amazing.
Would love to have someone like that next time it happens.

Took their time but through riots, protests and resignations they got there.
Shame they missed the big celebration in winning a World Cup.

Also worth highlighting that it should be innocent until proven guilty which everyone seems to have forgotten.

I always get torn with the while A player, B Player etc vibes.
- people have ups and downs in life
- if you consistently hire A players company comes with challenges those As will move to B as the bar raises so therefore no longer A players
- When hiring no one is 100% fit
The Spotify layoff show that anyone can be impacted by layoffs and they can happen anytime.
The best thing to do is ensure that you have developed a network that you can leverage when crisis times hit.
Building a network is hard but really important when hard times come.
This is huge 🤯
“Research shows 12% of UK businesses plan to adopt a four-day working week in 2024, marking a seismic shift in company attitudes towards flexible working.”
That’s roughly 660,000 businesses and 1000’s of employees soon to be on a 4-day week!
Working in recruiting is a tough job.
When things go well you’re everyone’s best friend.
When things are tough in the company, it’s recruiting fault for hiring the wrong people.
Show some love to your recruiters today.
Interviewing today?
Ask your interviewer some behavioural questions too, it’ll open the door to culture, how they operate and so much more insights.

- Describe a time there was conflict in the team, how
Job searching is painful, it’s horrendous
I’ve been there the start of this year.

It was hard! I learnt a lot about myself and job searching in general.

So many recruiters aren’t giving candidates the feedback they need.
If someone interviews with your company they deserve feedback.
Some tips to help you:

Looking after your employees isn’t that hard:
- pay them well
- give them autonomy
- give them flexibility
- give them opportunities to grow
Do these and you’ll have a happy workforce.
Customer experience is like candidate experience. When it’s bad it’s really bad and when it’s good it’s the best thing ever.
Was at soft play with my daughter and booked online. When I arrived I had to wait 5 mins while the two staff members, front of house, made a coffee ☕️
If your job is affecting you and your mental health, the best thing you can do is leave.
No will be thinking about how long you were there.
They will give you greater respect for getting out of a bad situation and focusing on you.
A real top skill in interviewing is the ability to probe.
I see too many interviewers ask questions get the responses and then move on with another question.
Missing so much data and insights when doing this and not mention a potential bad hire

Wonder if this will have an impact on job displacement. People moving away from cities and creating work elsewhere or doing other work.
Given the impact that AI could have within a cost cutting environment for companies.
Just a thought / discussion point.
Just posting a job advert on your careers site won’t ensure you find the best candidate.
Posting the role on LinkedIn won’t generate the best results either.
You need to be able to network and think outside the normal application funnel.

Only 30 days in and very impressed by what has been built and the layout and UX/UI.
If recruiters are being hired now, that can only mean companies are feeling positive about 2024.
Make sure you have a plan to look after your top talent as they will be getting a lot of calls in Q1 next year.
@TheNattomy
Bad hiring processes from companies that are built for people that can communicate well and not built for finding the right talent.
I write and post a lot about this.
Job hunting is tough.
It’s a full time job.
Make sure you also take care of yourself and get some time with your loved ones, family and friends.
The time to decompress will help you focus when you decide to continue the search.
It helped me hugely.
On 10th November I will be hosting an event for the TA members that have been impacted by layoffs directly with hiring managers.
I suspect this may well be a complet failure.
I'm aware of this.
But for I don't care, why?
I am passionate about the TA sector and really keen to
The two things I see companies need to get better at are:
1. Hiring and their hiring processes
2. Leadership Training in particular for first time managers.
Really believe you nail those two company culture will be really strong.
@HarvardBiz
If they understand the interview process.
A lot of time hiring managers focus on:
- do I like you
- will my current team like you
- will you disrupt or improve my current team
- can you do the job
Taken some time off X to spend with family which is incredibly important.
Spending time away from screens and work and whatever else you do on X!

Hopefully the algos are better aligned than LinkedIn.
But overall I think Job Boards are low ROI for their outcomes.

Well said, once you also present a counter offer you immediately hit management debt.
If they went through the effort of looking, applying and interviewing. Very unlikely any counter offer would keep them longer term

Don’t think it will ever get back to what it was.
Might be wrong but don’t see it being 2020-2022 levels. Companies and VCs shifting to profitability over headcount growth as the metric.
Onboarding a new hire is really important, and yet often overlooked, step in the hiring process.
A warm welcome and some slack messages does not count as onboarding.
@TechSalesGuy3
The whole ‘A player’ mindset is quite bad advice, everyone who is an A player today may well be a B player tomorrow due to life situation.
It’s a false fallacy that founders in particular think they can hire a team of a players, in my view it’s a little bit like marriage - there
Over the next week I’ll be dropping some good interview questions to ask and tips for assessing well.
Let me know if there are any skills or behaviours you’d like to see.

Companies spend countless hours interviewing candidates and yet spend limited time investing in the interviewers in how to properly interview.
It’s more than:
- Just asking about their experience
- Asking random questions
- Seeing if they have researched the company

Skills based hiring hasn’t been fully utilised.
Companies are saying they are using it but are doing a poor job on it.
People aren’t properly trained to utilise, don’t have the right systems in place.
End result they’ll shift back to experienced based hiring.
Agree?
Really excited to be launching my interviewer training course in 2024.

Question is whether Jones will continue given his current run. A lot to blame on the OL but QB has made a number of mistakes and errors this season.
A lot of questions could start to raise on why the extension and was it justified etc

Within Skills Based Hiring processes you focus on the applicants skills over their experience. You tailor your interview questions to focus on skills and behaviours.
This enables you to understand their skills in more detail and
