Referees and World Rugby need to get serious on clear outs like this. We’ve seen several injuries that have put players out the game for upwards of a year as a result of similar cowardly acts. Should have been a red and a lengthy ban. Hopefully @RuanAckermann recovers quickly.

Huge praise for @cadan_murley in this. Really didn’t have to attend the hearing to support Ashton’s appeal for the tackle on him but did so, and helped convince the panel that it wasn’t a red card offence. Thank you Cadan - you won’t need to buy a beer in Leicester for a while!
