Stoffel Vandoorne is the reserve driver for Mercedes and was due to fly to Bahrain after the Formula E testing in Valencia today anyway. He’s stepped in at the last minute in Bahrain before when Fernando Alonso couldn’t race in 2016.

So @LandoNorris will actually start fifth not fourth because of the way penalties are applied. A gap is left in the grid as each penalty is applied then the grid is closed up after all penalties have been applied and as such @LewisHamilton starts 4th and not 5th.

What a race! That didn’t disappoint. Neither of the top two in the Drivers’ championship score points but Red Bull open up a lead in the Constructors’. Funny Max was lying on a bed in the medical centre having his blood pressure taken when he found out Lewis had locked up. ➡️ 🇫🇷

Most heading to the Abu Dhabi race were told they had to be in Bahrain for the seven days prior, hence why last weekend was my last race. One solution for Merc is George Russell, as Williams can put reserve Jack Aitken in their car he is already in Bahrain. 🤷‍♀️
