Same blood type on the Shroud of Turin, the Sudarium of Oviedo, the 800 year old blood at Lanciano, and the six Eucharistic miracles over the past three decades. Either it’s what it seems, or the work of a vast millennia-old conspiracy that does nothing else. Vivat Christus Rex!

This unfortunate picture of the Holy Father's outdoor Consistory shows an underwhelming lack of interest in the festivities, and underlines a terrible truth - other than his opponents and his sycophants, a great many Catholics have lost interest in the Pope's words and actions.

If you are Catholic or Orthodox, pray to your respective Emperor-Saint for the restoration of peace. Better than any leader now living, they understood the terrible cost of war in blood, and saw their subjects and themselves pay for it. They are the best intercessors for peace.

The older I get, the more I realise that the Holy Eucharist, the Blessed Sacrament really is at the centre of all that is good, decent, and worthwhile. Just having received, we are as close to Heaven as can be in this life; we take Him into us, and in return He takes us into Him.
