My vegetable vendor happily accepts payments via UPI and other wallets but the POST OFFICE doesn’t! 😓
So many good schemes offered by PO are not available via a seamless online platform🤐
Plus the rigidity about the branch where a/c was opened🙄. This must change!

start at 25 years, invest ₹10K/mth, keep ⬆️ by ₹1K/mth each year… a corpus of ₹2 Cr will be ready when you’re 45
STOP investing and leave it to grow 🌳, it will turn into ₹9.5 Cr by the time you turn 60, assuming 11% CAGR
this can reduce pressure towards retirement years

A fixed income portfolio will ensure that your equity investments are not touched in times of need
“Rule of 72” is a tool to know the interest rate or time period needed to double an investment
Eg, If you want to double money in 5 years, you'll need to earn 14.4% annually for 5 years. At current rates, KVP & NSC will take 10 years to do that
My reply in today’s ET Wealth
Feeling frustrated that your 1-2 year SIP returns are low/negative
The journey for SIP started in an active equity fund in September 2017 has been like
XIRR 1st year: -14.76%
2nd: -0.28%
This is when most investors lose faith
Today 5th year: double-digit +Ve returns

Just mention a broader strategy, not any individual products.
Of course — Something that worked for you, of course may or may not be suitable for others.

If documents related to investment and insurance products could be limited to 1-2 pages and simpler language (especially terms and conditions)… it would go a long way in helping investors make more informed and better decisions.

Decent hike in few of the small saving schemes.
SCSS up to 8.2%
SSY at 8%
MIS at 7.4%
A hike of 0.7% in National Savings Certificate (NSC) which will now offer 7.7% interest.
The hike in NSC interest will take the RBI Floating Rate Bonds to 8.05% ⬆️
It’s more like a 50K SIP vs a car loan with a 50K EMI to get a Merc perhaps
Like you said, it’s a great message and good that investors are sticking to SIPs
While this is a very good headline, I don’t think most 50k SIP investors can logically afford to buy + maintain a Merc. They definitely aspire!
P.S. - I agree with the message, investors are becoming more aware & doing the right thing, investing.
Was speaking with a client. Her son has just started earning (gets ₹30K/month)
All is spent on weekend outings as he is staying with them and leads a life which a person earning in lakhs/month can afford
She is worried that it will give him a wrong sense of how money is managed

We discussed direct investing into global stocks. Why invest in U.S. markets? What is process? Tax & compliance angle. Advantages & disadvantages.
According to our understanding at
@finfixindia
based of current positioning of schemes, taxation for categories will be as under
Variation within schemes will exit for balanced advantage/DAAF & multi asset category
Majority are in scenario II & III, rest r likely to reposition
Here’s an overview of the ACTIVE

Nippon and ICICI manage portfolio directly via brokerage a/c while IDFC, DSP, SBI, and Franklin follow a FOF format and provide U.S. exposure via an active MASTER fund

A time correction can be frustrating as u don’t see portfolio going anywhere. Specially if you are 2-3 years into mkts
In ur 15-20 year journey , u will get many time & price corrections. Sometimes both.
A 2-3 year consolidation is rewarded handsomely if u stay disciplined!
Some

- spend less than u earn
- think before spending (do u really need it?)
- save regularly, especially for a rainy rain
- plan for future expenses
- curtail expenses
- avoid loans
- be content with what you have
