Never follow headline valuations blindly. Nifty 50 P/E has travelled from 34 to 42 to 25 in last 1 yr, all this while Nifty 50 has gone up from 12k to 16k. Reason: EPS has grown by over 80% from the lows.

If you zoom-in on short term, you will see only volatility, zoom-out and you will see only an upward trend. Since 2000 equity markets were negative in 97 out of 238 months 31 out of 79 quarters 6 out of 19 years Yet delivered 12.70% CARG. Zoom-out to stay focused!

Removal of indexation benefit from Debt MFs is a big loss for bond markets that are still struggling with liquidity. MFs are the only large active institutional investors who bring whatever little liquidity we have in bond market. Insurance and some others are HTM investors.
