🧵Good Morning! We are the brand new Police SEEN UK network for all serving officers and staff who hold lawful sex realist and gender critical beliefs. We aim to provide a much needed voice of support for police officers and police staff who share our views.
Hats off to these brave women. Not only do they do a vital and extremely difficult job for our NHS, but they have also found the courage to stand up for their sex-based rights in a very hostile climate. We salute you.

We seek to ensure that our Forces return focus to the Peelian Principles and uphold the law as it is written, free from ideological bias and the influence of politically motivated activist employees and lobby groups.
Our right to hold and express sex realist beliefs are protected in UK law thanks to Forstater vs CGD Europe and Miller vs College of Policing. Self ID is not the law in the UK and it is not appropriate for activists to train our officers and staff in law, guidance and policy.
WOW! What an AMAZING day! Thank you all so much for your follows, comments, likes and retweets. Police SEEN UK promise to do our best to help our workplaces become more tolerant and cooperative and we will strive to regain the trust of the public who we are privileged to serve.
As serving officers and police staff our founders have become increasingly concerned over the past few years and dismayed to see members of the public and some of our colleagues being wrongly targeted, disciplined and harassed.
We are pleased to announce that the Police SEEN UK website is now live! Important work on our journey for formal recognition - in support of all colleagues that believe in sex equality and accurate data recording.
The founders of Police SEEN UK are serving officers and staff bound by these principles. We cannot and will not hold back and be silent when clear breaches of the law and the Code of Ethics are taking place. Public confidence and trust in the police is being lost by the day.
Police SEEN would like to apologise sincerely for the apologies that are in vogue, for enforcing laws enacted by Parliament. We apologise that the Police’s job is to enforce the law.
We also apologise for being somewhat picky with our organisational apologies, and are very

We have made strong and repeated representations within our Forces against the prevalent ideological biases and eventually found support and reassurance in each other. We now want to extend that support and reassurance to the wider police family.
In case you were wondering… we have members across the UK, men and women, officers, staff and volunteers, working in various roles and ranks, but all with the integrity to step forward and take responsibility for restoring impartiality and equality to policing. None of us want
As Police officers and staff, we are bound by the Standards of Professional Behaviour, the Code of Ethics and the law.
The public rightly expect us to abide by the above and act with honesty and integrity at all times.
That’s why we welcome this statement by

We call on our police leaders to swiftly address these issues. Police SEEN UK have written to the Police Federation of England and Wales, the Superintendent’s Association and the National Police Chiefs Council requesting urgent meetings to discuss our serious concerns ..
Police training lacks clarity around the important issues of sex and gender and the intersection of the Equality Act, the Gender Recognition Act and our Human Rights.
The College of Policing’s new Code Of Ethics has three overarching principles:
COURAGE – to promote openness, accountability, learning and improvement.
RESPECT and EMPATHY – to promote a respectful and supportive culture in which everyone can thrive.
PUBLIC SERVICE – to improve the policing profession and the service we provide to the public.

We fully respect that some people simply cannot afford to risk their careers, ruin their promotion opportunities and destroy their livelihoods by openly stating their reasonable evidence-based beliefs.
We will be following up in the coming days with personal accounts from some of our founders, who will talk about their experiences of holding and expressing sex realist/gender critical beliefs in their police workplaces.
Astonishing and heartwarming response from officer and staff colleagues. Please bear with us while we process all your requests. We are really looking forward to having you all on board and to making positive changes for everyone. 💙
No dates have yet been agreed but we remain hopeful that meaningful engagement and progress can be achieved soon. We look forward to meeting in good faith and in the hope of earning back the trust of ALL the diverse communities we serve.
Applying for membership of Police SEEN UK is easy! We respond to emails from official police email accounts and discuss a mutually convenient date and time for a short virtual or in-person vetting interview. If we agree on a common vision and purpose we'll sign you up for free!
Important Police Announcement.
Go back ten years and tell me how you would respond to the announcement that a police officers' support group would be set up to defend the idea than males and females are real.
If you're a member of the policing family who hasn't yet joined us because you thought we wouldn't get very far, now would be a great time to get on board. We have members from forces all over the UK, there might be some from your force already that you don't know about! Email us
Thank you so much to the Rt Hon. Esther Mcvey MP for taking the time to meet with us, and other Sex Equality and Equity Network (SEEN) representatives from across the country, in Parliament yesterday.
We discussed impartiality, the capture of DEI policy and the culture of fear
We appreciate the media coverage and hope it will help us reach and support our sex realist colleagues 🙏🏻. We are not against trans rights or trans people. Cooperation & dialogue is essential to foster good relations between groups with competing rights.
We've only gone and got ourselves a fancy new email! 🎉

Police officers, staff and volunteers are governed by numerous rules, regulations and policies which prevent us from doing so while we're not yet a formally recognised staff support network - we're working on this currently.

We couldn't agree more. We are proud to stand with our SEEN colleagues across all sectors and also very much hope that the nightmare of institutional capture is losing grip.

NOW LIVE: SEEN IN RETAIL
Advocating for sex equality and sex-based rights in 🇬🇧retail.
We know that many British retailers are completely Stonewalled, and it’s hard to speak out.
Join us, tell us, let’s speak out together.
#BetterThanABoycott
But also, lots of our members have faced discrimination for expressing our beliefs, and we know there are many more officers, staff and volunteers who are too scared to speak out because of the hostile environments that they find themselves working in.
Any gender-critical police officer or member of civilian staff who has been exposed to this disgraceful "training" could consider a harassment claim. See .

“People in the police are terrified, really scared. And they have reason to be. My views have made me unpopular in the force, and all of us members have all had to assess the risk before speaking out,” thank you to
@PoliceSEENUK
Some people say we're hiding, that we're ashamed, or frightened, or we know we're on the wrong side of history. Nothing could be further from the truth. We don't give our names because of people who say things like that.
This goes for all the other SEENs too, one need only look at the pushback
@SEENPublishing
have faced in the five days since they launched to see this. The treatment people experience for stating simple facts is astonishing, as other media stories from the past seven days
Our founders and members have sadly experienced the same silencing tactics and slurs in police workplaces as described by
@seen_network
. It's also striking to hear similar stories from other sectors.
It must stop now.
🚨Exclusive: Pro-trans civil servants have “actively undermined” government policies, a gender critical group has claimed.
A small number of transgender rights activists have created a “culture of fear” across Whitehall.

Thought I'd check out whether this is actually a staff network for gender critical police officers and staff or just a new twitter account.
🔎Brief search shows it does not appear to be on the list of current Met staff networks.

We must be mindful of individual force media policies, we must not bring our respective forces into disrepute, we must maintain political impartiality, we must always behave in a way that is becoming of police officers, staff and volunteers, and, most importantly, we must protect
Today we wrote to all police staff network leads, reaching out in the spirit of cooperation.
We still await official recognition from our senior officers, unlike other networks, so we're asking them what barriers they faced, and seeking information from existing networks on how
This looks very familiar to us and something that SEEN members are confronting in their own Forces. Many police workplaces still encourage self ID and are not planning to change unless forced to by litigation.

@ASPolice
have a policy that says males can enter female changing areas etc on the day they declare themselves trans, NB or gender fluid. Those who are gender fluid will be issued with two warrant cards (presumably more if multiple identities)
-Have you been told manifesting your GC/sex realist beliefs is not lawful?
-Feel like you have no option except to use preferred pronouns even if it undermines your professional integrity?
-Afraid to defend single sex services and spaces?

Because of the shocking treatment of others who have expressed the same views we share. Because we need to focus on the work we're doing and not our own security. Because we fear we wouldn't get the reasonable and healthy discussion we want.
Because even though they posted this today

haven't asked us once, never mind twice, despite us having written to them previously to offer to talk to them about why we're doing what we're doing.

The voices of sex realist officers and staff must be heard and taken into account at all levels. Our concerns are evidence based and we are witnessing horrific real life consequences of ideology led policing.

One issue which frequently comes up for us is the provision of single sex services. As ever,

have an excellent and easy to digest briefing on the topic if you wish to start discussion in your workplaces:
Hi
@PFEW_HQ
now that the results of the
#PolicePayandMorale
survey have been published, could you explain why you didn't collect data on sex in the survey? The significant pay gap between men and women is important to your members and relevant to the results.
Brilliant thread. We support GC/sex realist police officer and staff members from all over the UK and are keen to hear of your experiences in your Forces regarding crime recording and NCHIs. 💙
NEW: Our latest blog looks at Police Scotland policy on recording Non-Crime Hate Incidents. The policy is perception based, and automatically treats complainants as victims, irrespective of any evidence of a criminal offence. All NCHIs are recorded.
We are Seen in Sport – a network for players, parents, coaches, and officials who believe that female categories were instigated by governing bodies precisely because there is a biological difference between men and women.
A point has been reached where those of us who value truth, who value reason, who value material reality and who recognise that the very foundation of how we make sense of the world, the scientific method, is being undermined, take a stand.

Indeed. We find the objective theories of how this happened very interesting. However, we believe that right now Police forces and leaders urgently need to pause and have a good look at our culture and direction. All voices need to be heard. Evidence and safeguarding come first.
@kathmurray1
@PoliceSEENUK
Allying with a one issue lobby group is such an obvious grotesque conflict of interest inimical to good policing, how can it ever have been allowed to happen? And continue?
We welcome this new advice. Knowledge, understanding - and open discussion of recent court rulings - is something that is missing in many of our workplaces. The correct application of equality law is what we want to see for all staff and the public.
It also goes against the oath of the constable, which every police officer swears at their attestation when they join the police. We at Police SEEN UK take our oath and responsibilities seriously and want to return to policing without fear or favour.
This undermines the safety, privacy, and dignity of every other employee of the force and is in breach of the Equality Act 2010 as it discriminates against people with protected characteristics of sex, and religion or belief.
It was incredible to welcome so many people from across Parliament to our first meet up yesterday!

We are blown away by the amount of interest and appetite for this network, so are really excited about what is to come!
