@spicynachotra
I know why. It's super Latino, but the Latinos in TX are not the liberals in CA or NY/NJ. They're more Trumpy like Florida. They're sad about the kids, but they imagine themselves as the hero of a mass shooting and not the victim (they see it)
@BudrykZack
The woman Emmitt Till was accused of "whistling at" is still alive at 87ish and counting... Till would've been 80(!) in 2021, and there are several famous Black people living that are older than that
Also he was only 14!

the bigger thing is she has no Israeli accent (plenty of Palestinians, Gazans included, speak English).
...almost like she's got a second passport...
@BrynnTannehill
this is Francoist Spain. This is Estado Novo in Portugal. This is an incubated conservative dictatorship, brutal and authoritarian, and with voting rights in dispute, we are watching the stripping of American freedom in real-time in exchange for a GOP-led reign.
Rex is right. From roughly its beginning to the Malice in the Palace, NBA hoop was violent as hell. They took it away so they could save ratings, but imagine if the NBA let you squabble like this today.
@oheysteenz
Nobody besides Us talks about Girlfriends, All of Us, The Proud Family, One on One, Everybody Hates Chris, Jake Long, Fillmore!, Juniper Lee, Static Shock, The Famous Jett Jackson (RIP!), and a bunch of other shows I didn't mention here.
That's our culture, big time
Don't ever tell me coaching and defense doesn't matter ever again. You can't just dribble dribble hesi hesi your way to a championship. And I say this as a lifelong member of the That Boy Nice Club.

These companies that buy out organizations like LA Weekly and other alt-dailies destroyed the watchdogs in journalism. Not to even get started with the Times
@oheysteenz
Riding hard for that obscure 90s or 2000s show that had a POC/black lead (the only one that made it "out the ghetto" was Avatar, we all love it)
@sam_ledon
Hell yeah I'm picking a side. Pan Africanism, the example of Black heroes like Mandela and Malcolm, and my background as a Black child of immigrants who understands what life in a colonial mentality is... Israel is in the wrong here.
@QueenMab87
To be fair, Welder and El-Sayed do share his politics. Davids and Whitmer don't.
AOC, Tlaib, Omar, and plenty of women in office/running for office share his politics, too.
@RichardEngel
I tell my mom I did NOT drink on the weekend, though my profile shows otherwise. Stop being uncritical of governments. This is basic journalism

Lol all they gotta say is ABORTION and GUNS and ELECTION INTEGRITY gin up the rural reactionaries (and the not-blue-enough suburban minority) to pull off another narrow W

Being male and offering hands might be it, but your heart was in the right place. We need to detoxify interactions between children and adults, but that also comes with taking strong stances against pedophiles, grooming, kidnapping etc.

Man, Chambers will 99.9% not win this election in a hyper-reactionary rural state like Louisiana, but I sure as hell endorse this ad
@jakebrodes
and if you live in the Sun Belt, earnest evangelical youth ministers are literally allowed to sit with you and minister to you at lunchtime. America, the Beautiful.
@jaycaspiankang
like, as hilarious as her ... Cool Runnings? - esque dalliance into a fleeting "Olympic sport" was, she was the least prepared and most overthought-out of the performers. Nice 30something white Australian lady, dressed like it, and terrible at a beautiful art form
@Q_Review
The writers strike and its connection to Cartoon Network in the late 2000s cannot be understated - shouts to your YouTube video about CN Real
@DavidBegnaud
White rural voters in Louisiana are pumped raw with hateful rhetoric from ideologically aligned media (Fox, Shapiro, Walsh, Facebook Uncle) and the state has a long legacy of hate. It'll never change. Can't blame this family for leaving

the Islamic Republic is furious about the flag change and as such, the journalists will force a history quiz on the players. They're pushing back against their "Great Satan."
@notreallyjcm
Political cosplaying resistance libs drowned them in money, which promptly went to trolling Bad Orange Guy instead of, idk, ACTUALLY GETTING PEOPLE ELECTED.
Never trust the Republican Party, even the super-earnest liberals should know that
@MLSist
humbling reminder that there needs to be more US club soccer media. I got a degree in media and I would *love* to do more soccer, but where's the outlets?
This is why the Athletic matters. Even through the Messi mania. Even more so why the former SBN blogs matter.

I'm not officially disclosing my preference, but I saw Warren and Bernie as A and B on my "acceptable D candidates" list -- then Warren "structuralized" her way out of it. Bernie is the definite choice for Dem voters imo
@jaycaspiankang
She's gonna write a fun little paper about this, she'll milk it for what it's worth on the streaming/big-screen circuit (Margot Robbie anyone?), and breaking will never come back to the Olympics. She'll make out better than anyone, including our Lithuanian friend "Nicka"

the whole thing with approved messages and playing the anthem and "granting" players "permission" to break the NBA's hardline anthem stance... "woke"
