Without the special criminal court there would be ordinary Dubliners heading in to a jury room today with legitimate fears of intimidation from gangland criminals. We've voted to renew this court to protect citizens. Dail votes often seem abstract but they have a real impact.

While city centre cycling lanes have seen some improvements, our urban villages do not have the same good quality cycle lanes. The N2 lane provides access to Finglas, Glasnevin and the Tolka Valley cycle route. It's in need of some TLC @dublincycling @IBIKEDublin @DubCityCouncil

On Capel Steet trial, I expect the steps ahead are to report the trial data and make a recommendation to Councillors. The trial ending doesn't have to mean the end of the traffic free scheme but rather the justification and decision to make it permenent. 300k people have spoken.

Today I stood with Mayors from across Europe to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the fall of the #BerlinWall . Those in the GDR tore down their wall and gave us a new Europe. We must ensure new borders and walls are not created on our island or our continent. #mauerfall30

So this morning the @MansionHouseDub officially reopened after 3 weeks of repairs. The first group which I decided to host was Lollipoppers from all over the city. These women and men do an amazing job, they look after our children and they care about each and every little child.

@AodhanORiordain Importantly, I was not 'slagging' NPHET. Nor calling for them to be disbanded. There was a time for prescriptive, regulations but once large numbers are vaccinated we need to decommission those tools used earlier in the pandemic. Overly complex rules will see less adherence

A significant number of TDs walked out tonight when the offences against the state act was being renewed. The Bill prevents intimidation of jurors and witnesses by gangland crime gangs and terrorist groups. My community sees this first hand and yet some TDs walk away. 😡
