I don’t think it’s appropriate for me or any MLA to take a pay rise when people in my constituency are struggling and MLAs have only just returned to Stormont. I am making the offer to donate my pay increase to @EmergeServices in Lisburn.

Congratulations to all those elected & a big thank you to everyone who voted for me. It was a privilege to be your MLA for 5 years. It was a bad election for the SDLP, the Party has a lot of reflecting to do. We ran a positive campaign in LV and I’m proud of that. Pat.

If the word no was removed from the dictionary, the DUP would be speechless. No to remaining in the EU. No to Theresa May’s Brexit. No to the Backstop. No to Single Market & Customs Union. No to extending the transition. No to the protocol. But it’s all our fault? No chance.

We all share this piece of land. None of us are going anywhere. The choice facing us today is the same as the choice in 1998 and it’ll be the same choice facing us tomorrow - work together and make it better or fight each other until kingdom come. Haven’t we had enough fighting?

We need to normalise talking about periods in public discourse. I’m so glad to see this piece of art restored. I’m also hopeful that our bill to make period products free in public buildings will come before the Assembly very soon.

Tomorrow is the day! We can finally pass our free period products bill and strike a huge win for equality. Let’s show what politics can achieve when people work together 💜

It’s good to talk. Really enjoyed the conversation last night at @IrelandsFuture . Lagan Valley was well represented too. Imagine a better future for all of our children and grandchildren!

Not every Lagan Valley MLA is as chaotic as my colleagues are making it seem. This week I’ve been busy: 🩸 Revising my period poverty legislation. 👮 Meeting police about unwanted flags. 🍺 Speaking to officials about licensing laws. And helping constituents too 🙂

Great to have my children, their husbands, wives, and kids around the table again. The first time in 5 years that we’ve spent NYE together and it’ll be a real celebration with the newly weds joining us too.

There are limited days left to get our #PeriodPovertyBill across the line in Stormont. A chance to demonstrate that politics here can work. It would be a damn shame if that work was blocked by any party collapsing power-sharing for a second time since 2017.

Action is the antidote to despair. I was glad to speak at @ProgPoliticsNI ’s #DUPendtheboycott protest earlier in Lisburn. People need MLAs to work for them, not wasters who refuse to do their job. When we worked together we delivered my Period Poverty Bill - it can be done!

Another fire at Hilden Mill this evening. What a terrible attack on our local built heritage. This area should be used for the benefit of our entire community. I’m calling on the owners to secure the site to prevent further incidents.

4yrs ago tonight we made history in Lagan Valley, against the odds. A few things have changed since then but I still believe we are all one community and as long as I have your trust to be MLA that's the vision for our shared home I'll keep fighting for. @SDLPlive

This is how all canvasses should end. I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Easter with friends and family. I’m delighted to be sharing some craic with my campaign team - our own little family - tonight. Cheers! 🍻

Are you sick of the drama? I know I am. People are going to suffer this winter but Tory and DUP politicians don’t seem to care. The SDLP want to get emergency help to those who need it right now and then plan for a new future, away from this chaos.

Rosemary & I just voted at Harmony Hill. You don't need your polling card but you do need Photo ID. For the safety of the polling clerks who will be working all day, please wear a mask. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages so far. Let's do this! #AE22 #VoteTilYouBoke
