We're devastated to announce that Dolo has passed away following a short illness. He was kept on a 1m chain for years, so restrictive that it rubbed off his mane. After he was rescued in 2007, he spent every day happily snoozing in the sunshine. Thank you for changing his life.
We’re absolutely delighted that from today wild animals can no longer be used in travelling circuses in England. We’ve been campaigning for a ban for more than 20 years and are thrilled that outdated acts like this will now be confined to the history books.

The UK is now home to three zoos with solitary elephants.
Elephants in the wild, particularly females, do not live alone and every solitary elephant is a victim of the zoo industry.
We need to phase out the keeping of elephants in UK zoos, now 👇 (1/7)
Early Christmas present! MSPs have today unanimously passed a Bill to ban the use of wild animals in circuses in Scotland! We have waited a long time for this excellent news – is it too much to hope that bans in England, Wales and Northern Ireland will follow?
Today is

We believe elephants should be protected in the wild – where they belong. Since 1989, we've worked to protect elephants from the threats they face, primarily from the ivory trade and human-wildlife conflict.
