Excuse the screenshot but Warren has me blocked.
This complaint coming from a man who thinks God created the world in which this happened, knew it would happen (at least knew as the act was about to take place), and rather than stop it, allowed it to happen so that he wouldn’t
@Soteriology101
God isn’t playing a game with creation, nor is he maneuvering through history “trying” to do this or that. God is and does, creation doesn’t have a seat at the table as if it offers any challenge to God.
The chess analogy poses massive problems for an orthodox Doctrine of God.
@HwsEleutheroi
While you are right in your assessment of Trump’s worldview, being that it’s all over the place and not firmly grounded in solid doctrine, I’m not looking for a messiah or a firmly grounded theologian in this election. And yes, with Vance being RC it makes sense that Trump rallys
Biden won the debate easily. He laid out a vision. A goal. A future that Americans can get behind. Trump was angry, conspiratorial, and deluded.
This debate told us nothing new. It just further proved that Biden is the right choice.

With the magnification of the scope he has,

Don’t get this wrong. There are only two types of humans in this world. Those who are in Adam and those who are in Christ. All in Adam stand condemned before God, and all in Christ stand justified before God.
Where do you stand?

It’s a university setting where he was INVITED. Opposition isn’t the issue. The issue is the inability to have any discussion/dialogue whatsoever. I’m sure he wouldn’t have a problem with speaking (as he was invited to do) and answering opposing questions. 🤷🏻♂️

The OP stated “if you can’t handle a room of unruly kids you ought not be a judge” (paraphrase mine). So, what’s implied is that his position as a judge entails handling a bunch of unruly kids/people, which doesn’t follow at all. Judges keep an orderly courtroom. Therefore,
Listen folks, disagree with Calvinism and Reformed Theology, that’s fine, neither is necessary in order to be a Christian. But if you are going to voice that disagreement don’t follow the example of this wolf.
@feefer2

This is the problem in this country. Instead of seeking rational discussion and debate people devolve into heckling to quiet the opposition. Left or right, this is wrong. Do you have the right to do so? Sure, but that doesn’t help solve anything. If your position has merit it can

This life is but smoke in the wind. There will come a time of judgement for all, and only those who are covered by the atoning work of Jesus Christ by faith will enter the rest of God. To have faith in Christ provides hope, in this life and the next.
This is a dumb take. Not only does the Scripture reference have no bearing on the subject, but just the fact that resources would get burned because the author has/had sin in their life is really dumb.
Can you give me the name of a single author who has no sin?
And I’m not
@RevivedThoughts
I do not believe his teaching material, books, sermons - anything - should ever be used again. He has brought incalculable reproach upon the name of Christ.
He has given the world reason to mock God and the Gospel. He is now a massive stumbling block to thousands of precious
Why is it that Provisionists and most non cals in general hand wave or never consider the Doctrine of God?
I will commend those like Warren McGrew, who understand that a classical understanding of God is no good for what they profess about salvation. They are wrong, bad wrong,
Perhaps I’ve figured out why Provisionism is all over the place when it comes to anthropology (not quite as much there, but sloppy nonetheless) and theology proper. They focus all of their attention on trying to refute Calvinism rather than what they actually believe. What’s more
Provisionism is not Arminianism. Provisionism deviates in its anthropology. Provisionists may try to appeal to some historical figures, such as Zwingli, in order to make it seem as though there is an orthodox footing for their anthropological commitments, but that’s just not
@RickWarren
Maybe you shouldn’t have ordained women. 🤷🏻♂️ it leads down a slippery slope to ordaining homosexuals as well, just look at other denoms that went that route.
Found out Leighton blocked me, sad. I’ve offered substantive criticism hoping for actual engagement for some time now, but it seems that type of interaction is not what is desired. Just a couple days ago I posted on one of his threads offering reasonable opposition to an analogy
It’s funny watching
@Soteriology101
complain about people not understanding Provisionism over and over, when he and his folks have done nothing but make fun of Calvinists who complain that he and his folks have a subpar understanding of Calvinism.
@Soteriology101
You first have to assume God decreeing (planning) adultery somehow impugns God’s character. Without that assumption, there’s no need to assume the character of God is impugned. And we too, who affirm the sin of Lawson was in fact decreed by God, completely agree that the
What is hard to understand about “God hath decreed whatsoever comes to pass”? It’s borderline ridiculous for the non-Cals and anti-cals to try to find something horrendous and then say, “did God decree that?”…… my man, whatsoever comes to pass is exhaustive. lol

It’s so strange that people believe Reformed Theology just stops at Romans chapter 9 when considering the Scripture, as though nobody has written on chapters 10-11. 🤔
What you need to know about Warren here is that he likes to hear himself talk. He is not a serious thinker, and it is my belief that he is more than likely not even Christian. He is deceitful and dishonest, something evident by the lies he spreads of others and his treatment of

Their works can be objectively evaluated.

, and others in their camp still don’t get it that the objection they bring is the same objection of Paul’s interlocutor in Romans 9:19. I know Leighton argues that we have the wrong guy as the interlocutor, and he says the interlocutor is a Jew
Most of the anti-Calvinist crowd just assume that Reformed Theology automatically rejects freedom and contingency. This is absurd, as anyone who has read anything on the topic would realize that Reformed Theology has a far greater scholarship when it comes to freedom and
@BornAgainBalaky
Awe, you have an anecdote that you think trumps what is the case the vast majority of the time. There is nothing wrong with churches having some basic rules around appropriate dress.
And I’m not one that thinks that should be super strict. I don’t mind t-shirts and shorts for
“It really bothers us because we can’t see how it works………”
That’s your fault, not God’s. You sound like Job when he finally broke down and asked God why all of the things that happened, happened to him. And God comforted Job and told him that he (God) had nothing to do with
So, it seems that Steve Lawson more than likely did not have his own sin in mind when he preached his final sermon at Trinity. With that in mind we should not even consider the narrative made up by Warren McGrew (

) and disseminated by others that Lawson considered
I have a new focus statement for the Provisionists. “We only engage with hyper-Calvinism because we don’t have a clue how to deal with confessional Reformed Theology”………
The state of the soteriology discussions here on X, at least when it comes to Calvinism vs non Cal, is really poor. I quote tweet other people looking for engagement. I’m honestly looking to have a further discussion that could lead to audio/video discussion with the intent of

The reason I ask this is because it seems to follow from what you posit of man and his natural ability, that even after one comes to be in Christ they could still

Ah, so you think it’s fine for the Spirit to use an adulterous murderer to give us Scripture, but it’s not ok for the the Spirit to work in a teacher to give the church some resources because that teacher will later disqualify himself?
This is what gets me. These guys (both Eric and Drew or whoever posted this) put forth a video coming from a hyper system like Westboro, and want to act like this IS Reformed Theology. That’s just dishonest. Why not engage with the confessions? Oh, that’s right, because the
Apparently, many who call themselves Christian are very upset another Christian would dare say a 4 month old can sin. Maybe they haven’t read their Bible.

“Gives us a chance to make the right decisions” just is him respecting our autonomous freewill……. That’s literally exactly what I was referring to when I said “doesn’t want to violate autonomous freewill”.
It amazes me that on the Provisionist side of things the loudest voices (I mean the bigger accounts) absolutely do not want meaningful engagement. If you challenge anything they say they whine and block you. An example I can give is with the

I may not interact with much here over the next day or two. I’m working on a response to Warren McGrew’s opener in his debate with Rogue Calvinist. It’s very interesting so far, and I haven’t finished the definition section yet. As a teaser, Warren didn’t even define Total
This might be the wildest thing I’ve read when it comes to the Reformed/Provisionist debate. People who point to foundational documents of their understanding of biblical truths are “lazy”? Really

I haven’t watched the whole thing, hopefully get around to it later, but from the start

makes a big deal out of Calvinism using the term “sovereignty”. His main beef is that he thinks it’s question begging. Not that I agree at all that it is actual question
Their system comes from a reaction to Calvinism. Whatever Calvinists say about X has to be wrong, so they either just adopt the opposite or frantically search for any view that doesn’t allow for Calvinism. This is why there really is no Provisionist scholarship, it’s mainly a
Had to rewrite this post due to editing issues that I will explain in the comments.
I want to say I have found agreement with
@The_Idol_Killer
. I agree with him that saying you are a decreetalist (or however you spell it) is just changing the name of theistic determinist.
Sorry, but this seems too strange. Not this initial post, but the explanations she offered in the thread. There is no way the guy she describes is a pastor or possibly even a Calvinist. Who has never heard of the bodily resurrection of Jesus and could be either?
Sadly, these
My first Calvinist pastor sent me home crying from his Bible study because I made an observation from the text that he didn't like. His harsh treatment kept me away from church for 3 months.
#Calvinism
This applies to you in principle as well
@Soteriology101
. You love to quote the confession where it says, “God hath decreed whatsoever comes to pass”, but you never deal with what comes after that because it explicitly denies the conclusions you draw.
“18 For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”
What does it take for the word of the cross to not be foolish to those perishing?
Christianity- a miracle of God working in the person.

Some people have had a problem with me stating why I think people within Provisionism are all over the map when it comes to anthropology and theology proper. Let me explain in more detail the issue I see. May be a bit lengthy, sorry that can’t be helped.
I laid out the history
When it comes to the topic of soteriology these days, in the specific area of Calvinism/Provisionism, there are some people you should look to on either side. Of course I would point you to some on the Calvinist side, too many to list here, but there are IMO 3 main accounts for
@HwsEleutheroi
Thought you should know that Leighton Flowers and his entire following are basically slandering you by saying you dogmatically claim some infants who die in infancy go to hell. I’ve tried to help them see their error, even to the point of posting a YT video covering the 2LBC 10.3
@HwsEleutheroi
You really should pressure Leighton on the Doctrine of God. He claims to be orthodox, but all of his analogies feature God as some big man.
@Just4Tweets1986
Jesus wept over the rebellious people who would not believe. Again though, that was according to his humanity. His divinity is not moved by emotion to a response. God is not moved by passion as humans are.
I want to make this a separate post from the other because it deals with a separate issue. I am 25 minutes into the video and Leighton is accusing Calvinists of question begging. I find this incredibly rich. Why? Because the only defense he as a proponent
Firstly, it’s not “so-called” orthodoxy, it is orthodoxy. But I do understand the frustration from your perspective. There are many passages that speak of God changing his mind, and many times those passages are said to be anthropomorphic by Classical Theists. I am sympathetic to

I think you have a screw loose buddy. KR was fleeing, being chased, heard a gunshot, and turned to a guy lunging at him (the same guy that had told him he would kill him)….. you aren’t much of one for facts eh?

You must know something I don’t, because it seemed like satire with a hint of truth as to women seeking to lead in the church……… 🤷🏻♂️ you’re ready for an intervention it seems, what the heck?
Warren is responding to my video. I offered some pushback to things he got wrong and I was “put in time out”. I do think I called it a clown show, which it was, and I did call out Warren for lying about me (which he did whether on purpose or not, and I said within that comment

You think Jesus wants a bunch of unique people or a unified body?
And of course I don’t mean a bunch of people that look exactly alike, I mean unified in what they believe and not a bunch of unique beliefs.
Again, excuse the screenshot but Warren has me blocked, so it is what it is. Warren continues to be made aware that his understanding of Total Depravity, what he is basing all of his arguments on, is wrong. I made a video over a year ago explaining it, and got mockery, I made
