Hey @unity , our game "The Fall" was on the @EpicGames as a free game - I was quite happy to sell them the rights for peanuts and the game was installed like 7 million fucking times. How do you propose this will work? I'd owe you more money than I've made in my life.

@unity @EpicGames FYI All, I am still a bit confused and concerned about edge cases, but it's clear now that my initial concerns were a bit unreasonable. Unity's caps use "AND" logic - you have to hit time bound $$ and lifetime units. this is much safer than I feared.

@unity @EpicGames That said, if you hit Rev and unit thresholds it appears that you will be charged for demos and bundles etc, which is insane no matter how you slice it. That is fucking crazy.

@RothioTome @unity @EpicGames I'm not particularly concerned with them retroactively charging me for previous installs. I doubt that's legal. I'm concerned that there are several scenarios that will no longer make sense given this new policy.

@Diasean @unity @EpicGames They're going to start charging devs for installs - above a certain cap, of course. To be clear, the "more than I've made in my life" is an obvious exaggeration. I would owe them three times what epic paid me.

@DominicTarason @Diasean @unity @EpicGames Actually The more downloads you get, the less they charge you per download, I believe - although it's hard to tell because It's complicated. Talk about a PR fuck up. if you need math formulas to not set the internet on fire maybe you should rethink your announcement.

Someone actually changed their positive review for Whisker Squadron: Survivor to a negative one, because we added some optional accessibility options to the settings screen that included the option to reduce incoming damage a bit and/or slow the game down a tad. Sorry not sorry.

The response to @unity 's post has been a twitter mob and I'm ashamed to say I may have gotten swept up in it a bit. the caps they're proposing are a lot more safe and reasonable than I at first feared. I THINK: pro license, $10 per sale, you'd have to make $10MM Before any fees.
