In the absence of any misconduct, I can see only one reason why the OHSAA board would force out their widely respected (and very competent) leader right now. I think there was a split over whether to proceed with football this fall, and Mr. Snodgrass was in the minority.

Picking HS football playoff games involves a lot of luck, especially in the later rounds, and last night, I had quite a run of luck. As Mansfield won in OT, Elder scored late, & Mentor rallied to win on the TD+2 in OT, I ended up a once-in-a-lifetime 16-for-16 on the evening.

I'm not a fan of this move. Yes, a pair of 10-0 teams missed out on the playoffs last year, but putting nearly half of all teams in the playoffs is too many. Playing real games from mid-August to early December is too much, as well.

In D4 & up, only 1 of 112 double-digit seeds won twice to reach next week's regional semis. Over the last four March Madness tourneys, 9/112 double-digit seeds made it that far. In the women's NCAAs, with home courts & little parity, 5/112 still did so. 16 teams is too many.
