Unpopular opinion but I think this time being ranked 3 at RG instead of 2 helped Novak. It was good to get over the Alcaraz match in the SF. Playing the strongest opponent in Final when history of 23 slams was on the line would have led to extra pressure. So thanks Medvedev!

Remember when Rafa Nadal was awarded @LaureusSport sportsman of the year for 2020 for winning 1 slam, whereas Novak Djokovic wasn’t given the award for 2021 after winning 3 grand slams & being just 1 match away from winning all 4. How unfair was that!!
