Hello Twitter,
I had to leave my current organisation, and I'm back hunting for jobs again.
Primarily looking for social impact, public policy & development roles.
A little bit about me:
As someone who’s lived w a hearing aid, and cant live without it - getting hearing tests done is the most annoying yet fun thing to do at the same time.
That’s how I be starting my Monday. 🍓
Interviewer scheduled a call last week, didn’t turn up. I was supposed to have another call w him today; didn’t turn up again.
The company has rescheduled the interview to Thursday - maybe third time’s the charm? 😤🌚
I'm a Political Science Graduate, with a Bachelors in Political Science from LSR & MA from JNU, - with 3.5 years of work experience, primarily in public policy - financial inclusion, gender equality, zero hunger, disability inclusion are some of the issues I have worked on.
Cab driver asked me to explain what "not polite" means cuz someone filed a complaint against him using those words.
Makes you think how non-inclusive we are in a country which is so vastly diverse.
Part two of
@NamanSingha
article on the challenges faced by Indian women as a result of
#COVID19
. Time and again, the message remains clear, that
#India
remains an unfriendly space and substantially under-equipped to provide for women's requirements.
“Identity is hard-defined. Are we governed by who we love, the languages we speak, our ancestral lineage, or the amount of melanin in our skin?”
I can re-read this book a million times.
Hello twitter fam! I I'm working on a piece about workplace rights and would love to hear about your experience w your workplaces.
DM - if you'd like to share your story, I promise a coffee in return :)
“But there’s a startling lack of engagement w south Asian literary fiction. My intention is not to sham anyone into not having read them; but we’re in an age where texts from regional languages are more accessible than ever. Please pick these books up!”
This is so so important.
why don't indian bookstagrammers ever talk about indian and other south asian authors? they can recommend taylor jenkin reids and emily henry but not meena kandasamy, humayun ahmed, mahasweta devi, shehan karunatilaka, attia hosain, kamala das, perumal murugan and amrita pritam?
Preaching on social media about women's issues is pointless if you've failed to respect the women around you. first let your actions be louder than your tweets

“Democracy is back, baby. But we will have to repair the terrible damage done to it.
We can only wait and watch, but I for one feel physically lighter. I can’t wipe the smile off my face”

everything that could go wrong, or we could do wrong, did happen. but I think most people will remember the rest of what we did, which is great. thank you to those of you who made it to our first club gig. me and
