The importance of a lot of things in Massachusetts are blown out of proportion, like the Boston Marathon. At least it felt that way when I ran it.

Women “want” to go back to work right away because we now have to make sure we don’t lose the roof over our baby’s head. Full stop. It’s the money. Whether it’s that every single paycheck is needed, or they can’t afford to miss a season off their career… it’s the money.
@oldenoughtosay
My first Mother’s Day we went to “fancy brunch”, and while rushing to get the 9 month old out of the car for the valet, I neglected to notice she’d had a blow out before tucking her into a sling.

Even after falling in love with Second Gentleman Doug tonight, and then watching the Obamas… Joe Biden was hands down the winner overall.
I was rapt and in tears the whole time. 🔥❤️

Most of what people say about white women has applied to me at times in my life. But any progress I’ve made comes from listening, not shutting people down by immediately crying “not me! Not all!”

I don’t believe docs should do whatever the patient wants when it’s medically not appropriate. But when the reasoning is “maybe you don’t know your own mind”…

I’m suddenly very proud of my “argue their perspective on everything, we’re gonna make this happen despite you mom, and ok fine we can follow some parameters” children.

I don’t know. I don’t want to speak too much about things I’m not part of… but I watch friends who were in sororities at HBCU, and they seem to still be building each other up, decades later. I don’t see WW doing this. No joke, I’m jealous as heck, because it’s beautiful.

This.
Follow the money.
With lower salaries for teachers and lower standards for who they hire, charter schools can turn a nice profit.
Public schools do not.
@2tonshorty
@NicolasEdny
I’ve been watching, listening… WW really have not learned how to develop sisterhood. Really. The competition, the hierarchy, some dated notion of class… it’s all a game to try to cut each other down instead of building each other up.

I waited for a date outside the men’s room at the movies, looking at my phone, and happily started walking away with the next man that came out. Good times.
@KellyScaletta
I often send my kids to the local public school and not expect to see them for a few days.
(If only, says every parent who had gotten the call when they’re two minutes late for pickup.)
@LeslieStreeter
No apology needed… I am always shocked when white friends have not-conservative parents, and it never occurred to me there whole communities where being democrats or liberals is the norm.

It’s the hair and the need to soak for an extended period. I want a “gross pet” setting that does a double wash and maybe throws in some vinegar for extra odor elimination.
@KeneAkers
My dad could say the most hateful things in private & then give the shirt off his back to anyone with the need. Eventually you decide which lesson to learn. Now, learning to listen to the experiences of POC instead of blandly thinking “we’re all equal”…that takes/is taking time.

I see many, many Medicare patients who have outrageously high co-pays on medications. I absolutely believe this is true.
Perhaps your family members also have a state run Medicaid plan? When approved, they usually have very low co-pays.

Sorry to be all up in your timeline this morning, but mine kicked in out of the blue this weekend, too, and it’s really late/early in the year for them.

I did this with the kitten of the group. She far too fearless and ballsy (even now! Over a year old!) and I couldn’t trust the jumpier dog to ignore her antics. After a few weeks it was much calmer.

Sounds like you have an employer who either doesn’t want to pay much of your premium, or has no bargaining power with the insurance companies.
This is my co-worker and friend, helping her soldier daughter move. One bad accident, and now they are looking for help getting home. Anyone who’s put 4 kids through college knows emergency funds aren’t always there when there’s an emergency

Agreed.
I hyper focus for a period of time, but need to regroup after that. By the end of the day, work is done. But I can’t stay at high output for the duration of the day.
