4. The hypothesis that Hamas cannot be curtailed militarily is likely wrong. Because Israel is unlikely to continue to exist as a relatively liberal, prosperous country without curtailing Hamas--it will likely fight like the Ukrainians, but with a military advantage.

Many Gazans are trapped in Shifa, including patients that cannot be easily evacuated. Hamas built their central headquarters there, knowing that Israelis could not fight without being deemed as monsters. It is possible that hostages are held there. 2/5
