@eyeslasho They think they are being “nice”. They want to be “nice people”. I’ve imagined how that mindset is. There’s a marked lack of the confidence necessary to make one’s own moral judgements. They take the risk-averse strategy of trying to be seen by authority figures as “nice people”.

@LongFormMath @taz_chu Math was always boring, and I didn’t care about any of it. Later on, I went to college in my 20’s, and I had two good professors for linear algebra and discrete math. They showed me a whole other world of math, and I’ve loved it ever since.

@eyeslasho “Han” is a much more diverse group than “Korean”. I think that’s important to note. Someone who says it’s always easy to distinguish is wrong, because there are Koreans and Northern Chinese who are practically identical. But, most Han do look quite different from Koreans.
