Quite a few months ago, I attended a

alert for a cardiac arrest - at work yesterday the
@Ldn_Ambulance
crew told me the patient survived and was discharged from hospital! All I did was CPR - learn the skill people - it takes a system to save a life!
Did you know for every 1 degree a babyโs temp is <36.5 there is a 28% increase in mortality!

Portfolio's - tbh I hate them! Had to take a break from

Why should ACPโs not be intubating?
@FICMNews
have a whole bolt on curriculum for ICU ACPโs to train them in intubation and anaesthesia and the RCEM ACP curriculum also has airway management competenciesโฆ.

Out of curiosity why do we have to do a limited list before then asking for the full formulary - seems silly if we could affect a change that will end the dilemma for good, otherwise we have to repeat the same cycle again!
A question for paediatric peers, do you have any clever ways to remember Mile stone development? It refuses to stay in my brain!

Fantastic talk from

about acute aortic syndrome! A difficult diagnosis to make - how often do you think about it? Should you think about it more often? Get your evidence, get your CT! Remember its not always a dissection causing aortic pain!
The care and compassion from

Very impressed with the HOT debrief on BBC Ambulance tonight. Everyone from call handler through to advanced Paramedic given time to sit down and debrief with support and off road time. Need to see a lot more of this in our role. Senior managers please take note ๐

@TimEdwards76
100% behind you Tim - it seems the ability to prescribe CDโs is still a long way off and the small list accepted for change looks useful for primary care. The need of emergency and critical care drugs is lacking. Also fit notes would be very useful! Letโs hope things change.

My personal opinion is you canโt make a comparison to โmedical equivalencyโ you would be comparing apples with pears, we are very different and that seems wrong.

@DrEilidhMaria
To me, it seems logical to see someone who is trained and competent to manage your episode of care. With that, the clinician (doctor or otherwise) has a responsibility to have awareness of the limitations of their practice and know when to ask for help.
In the NHS we get to meet truly wonderful people, some move across the globe away from their family, friends and loved ones. Iโve had the chance to work with one of these doctors over the last few years, he has taught me and many others so much.
Canโt wait to join this - a great development opportunity! Missed the first week unfortunately but hope to make the rest! Registered โ

I also am a firm believer in professional identity. ACP is a nice umbrella term but individuals should identify you profession in your title. In my case Advanced Paramedic Practitioner. itโs important from an accountability perspective that patient know who is treating them. 1/2
