3D Print Designers: I'm BEGGING YOU, plz pay attention to layer heights. If you are making something that needs to be dimensionally accurate, your part should not be 31.95mm tall. You should decide what layer height you want, and work in divisible units of that.

It is a shame this board will be hidden on a build. The @LDOmotors Leviathan is a work of art. @Voron_Design Trident w/ a visible rear electronics box maybe? 48V Super Power motors? Decisions decisions... Also I was unaware there is a rear heatsink, but I love that there is.

If you are designing a part to be printed at a .2mm layer height, your part's z dimensions should be divisible by .2. The screen grabs show what happens when that isn't so. This part was .1mm off, so the slicer smushed 2 layers together. The second image is corrected.

Mocked up the 3d printed gauge cluster in the 65 GMC today. It needs work but the @Polymaker_3D ASA housing bonded together with @3DGloop is looking excsclt how I hoped it would holding those @AutoMeter gauges. I’ll reprint a 1 piece version when I have a machine capable.

Reviewing Machines is NOT worth it. There I said it. Hundreds of dollars worth of filament, many hours of testing, & someone is still gonna say you didn't put enough time into it. Or others will complain your review took too long & no one will watch it as relevance passed. 🙃

Decided to use a proper @BeaconScanner on the Trident build. The key reason for the change? I found that 3DO has a CAN/USB cable so you can run both through one cable! Picked up a length of it from @Fabreeko_Hector to use on that build and my next 2.4 as well.

I'll add to this. If you want a CRISP corner chamfer, but still want to improve printability: Use angles greater than 45 degrees. Personally I default to a 60-ish degree angle on all of my base chamfers. (.4mm over / .8mm up is my default).

Another simple trick for making easier to print models. If you want a smooth edge on the bottom of a model (and can't reorient it) chamfer the edge first and then apply a fillet There's still a sharp edge, but it's inset so it'll feel more smooth.
