The legislature spent a year & lots of tax dollars creating a workplace conduct unit to investigate allegations of sexual misconduct by members. Mr. Speaker should say if allegations against Ting will be investigated, otherwise he appears to be dismissing them with a tweet.

The allegations in a right-wing blog appear designed to undermine our efforts to bring greater economic justice to working people. Rest assured, we will not be distracted or deterred from our mission.

Newsom's answer on schools shows why the press corps desperately needs the ability to ask follow ups during these pandemic press conferences. The Gov is rehashing months old budgent news w/out addressing recent pleas for him to be more politically engaged in school reopenings.

With baby crying on her shoulder, Wicks begs colleagues to support housing bill S.B. 1120: “Please please please pass this bill, and I’m going to go finish feeding my daughter.”

Wicks knew the family leave bill was on shaky ground and wanted to help it pass, so that more Californians could have an experience like her own — at home with her newborn, confident she could return to her job when her maternity leave was done.

Today was the strongest anti-Trump rhetoric I’ve heard so far from @JerryBrownGov , who generally has been cautious about criticizing the Trump Admin. He repeatedly said Jeff Sessions is telling “lies” and chastised him for bringing the “mendacity of Washington” to CA.

Which makes you wonder: If Democrats who want to go on record supporting family leave job protection had actually voted for family leave job protection... maybe a nursing mother & her infant wouldn't have had to come to a COVID-exposed Capitol to cast a vote.

More #CAleg observations from my kid who is watching session livestream with me: "Doesn't that set a bad example to the public if they don't vote?"

This was the least showy announcement Newsom has delivered in a long time. No scenic backdrop. No livestream. No press questions. Just a press release announcing a fracking ban he said he didn’t have the power to do in September.

California will stop approving new oil fracking by 2024 under an executive order that Gov. Gavin Newsom announced today with little fanfare following months of confusing mixed messages
