I always say to my staff that family come first and allow them time for assemblies, shows and appointments etc. I led by example and have spent the last two days in hospital with my wife. So glad I’ve got a great deputy and team I can trust to run the school without me 😊

Favourite part of my day…When you’re showing a potential candidate around and introduce her to the EYFS lead.She comes back 4 mins later and you’re sat wrapped in a blanket at the dinner table, with a 3 course meal and some dolls from the EYFS children, whilst being waited on 🥰

Day 83 as HT…a busy but productive day. Finalised a job advert for a new 1-2-1 TA ready to start in September. Our school got awarded the School Games Gold Award and now on my clinic with @Ambition_Inst for my NPQH.

Busy day today as I’m not in tomorrow/Friday as on Lancashire’s 24hour in leadership course. Looking forward to some time to plan away from school. As usual, a worthwhile afternoon speaking with @MrsKatieSmith and offloading about the positives since taking over as Headteacher 😊

Day 77 as Headteacher…a busy one but SATs are done and we aren’t being moderated! Still got my year 6 teacher on a moderation course as it’s useful for her training. Now home, with a beer in hand and waiting for hopefully a Leeds Rhinos win! #first100daysasHT

Day 93 as HT…. Spent the morning having a headteacher update and then went home to have some time for governors and curriculum. Managed to get loads done and hopefully improve our vision and values #first100daysasHT
