After renting for 23 years of continuous unbroken tenancy we were given 23months notice by our landlord. We don’t qualify for social or affordable housing. We expect our new rent will be 150% to 200% higher. At 52yo I worry about the future and retirement.

How many people of that part of Ireland left Ireland over the centuries to find safety in other parts of the world. Shame on them.
Members of the Garda Public Order unit are at the scene of a hotel outside Roscrea in Co Tipperary, where crowds have gathered to protest the arrival of three families seeking asylum.
It may not have been the biggest

The bravery it takes to get out and march in a smaller town should never be underestimated. It’s easy to be lost in a 50l strong parade.
If you are not aware of it, the Auschwitz Memorial account is a vivid reminder and education on the ability on people to dehumanise others so terrible atrocities can be carried out with impunity. See the faces and read the stories of the victims of hate.

I’m more than happy to share with
@rtenews
my pro-res video of the full trans rights march as it passed the Shelbourne Hotel which clearly shows how vastly out numbered the others were… and more joined at Merrion Square.
Already legacy Irish media are doing ‘both sides’. Apparently the larger LGBTQ protest is the ‘same size’ as the Fascist one! RTÉ also claiming they can’t see any Nazis! If RTÉ were at the Nuremberg Rallys, they’d report a Hugo Boss fashion show.
I’m so proud to have captured this piece of video of Cormac that day. It’s him, it’s the generosity he had for others, especially young people. It’s him because he always tried to help others to shine. It’s him, because he had the humility to step back to make way for others.
This week in 1995 I had the wonderful honour to meet President Mary Robinson in the Áras with some of the service users from Body Positive to highlight the issues faced by people and families living with HIV. Such was the stigma of HIV I was the only 1 able to be seen in a photo.

Are you shocked to find this out. Since the UN was established the USA has used its veto to prevent votes against Israel going forward.
Subject to confirmation, I think Israel has the most resolutions passed against it than any other country in the UN.
We have a growing serious problem with the hard right in Ireland. Action is needed to tackle it before these threats turn into terrorist actions.
Genuine community groups around the country need to disassociate themselves from this criminality.
Two examples from day.
Charlie Bird wanted to show his undying support for our LGBT+ community by incorporating the Pride flag in his ‘Elephant In The Room’ raising awareness of mental health and wellness.

Definitely one of the best send offs with one of the best renditions of ‘Fairytale of New York’ I think I have ever heard. The passion behind it was incredible.
My experience of the last two days on here have shown me three things…
1 By far the number of people attacking trans people are not from Ireland
2 TERFs seem to have a blindspot for cis women who support trans rights. It’s an epidemic
3 Twitter is a cesspool of reactionaries now

ever since you let the private developer reinstate the road on Charlemont Street this is a regular occurrence when it rains. Cyclists have to go to the centre of the road to avoid the water. I’ve reported this several times and nothing has happened.
Saddened to hear of the sudden death of Eibhear Walshe. In addition to being a superb writer and academic, he was a wonderful human being with a brilliantly wicked sense of humour.

Saddened to learn of the news that a stalwart of the AIDS epidemic in Ireland, Trisha Conway, has passed away. She was the most kind and caring nurse in Cherry Orchard respite to so many. She worked tirelessly for groups like Anna Livia Drug Project and DAA throughout the 1990s…
Can someone explain why Gardaí were sent to stand at Bank of Ireland ATMs to stop customers using them…

“We are human beings” so are the people seeking a place of safety.
And then at the end the woman saying she is an immigrant but protesting against the state providing a place of safety to those seeking one until their applications are decided on.
I heard with deep sadness and shock of the death of Cormac. An incredible young man with enormous personality, potential and a heart filled with justice and equality for everyone. He will be deeply missed by so many. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

Earlier today I posted a comment in support of refugees… The reaction was amazing from the far right. Honestly, for a group of people who consider themselves ‘patriots’ hardly any of them dared use their real identity. Most of the accounts weren’t even from Ireland. Pathetic.
