Kiddies throwing smoke bombs at
#bcafc
matches might need to learn the recent history of the club they’ve turned up to watch. And who might be sat next to them. But it looks cool on their Facebook page at school the next day. Utter little twats.
When this is all over, if anything positive can come from it, maybe people will become more humble, less angry, confrontational (especially on social media) and more kind to each other. Appreciate what we have when it comes back. May sound slushy but I’m sure you all feel it too.
Genuine sad news for Gary Bowyer. A nice guy and I don’t think anyone should celebrate someone losing their job. But hard to see how he could come back from such a poor run.
#bcafc
Setting off a smoke bomb at the match is the football equivalent of revving your quad bike in a town centre. You think you’re the business. Everyone else just thinks you’re a cunt.
Have to say, huge credit to the lads from
#lofc
who travelled up to bradford regardless today. Came in to work, bought beer, ham and records! That’s how to do an away day!
#bcafc
This is what charging for parking on a Sunday gets you. A great way to reward people for making the effort getting out of bed on a Sunday to earn a living or spend money in the city centre. Utter incompetence.
@Alex_Ross_Shaw
@SHinchcliffe
@bradfordmdc
@Bradford_TandA
Racist or otherwise, can’t stand any of that ultra nonsense. No idea why people are so keen to copy it over here. What’s wrong with stood watching the match with a pie.
I have never seen a player chased by the referee and getting sent off at half time for fighting with his own teammate. Shove your expected goals, stats and heatmaps down your nerd-holes. This is what football is all about!
#bcafc
Aside from sacking McCall when we were in real danger of becoming a non-league club, changing the manager has made no difference. And it won’t make a difference now. DA is the best option
#bcafc
have and whatever is wrong is too deeply ingrained for him to turn around in a season
Not many better managers out there than PP, delivered some of the greatest moments in our history. Not one that cares, or who has physically given more to
#bcafc
than McCall, yet incredibly, since they arrived, the new owners have managed to get rid of both. Where do we go now?
It was always going to be tough for a club like Bradford City to compete with the likes of Cheltenham, Cambridge, Morecambe, Newport and Forest Green.
#bcafc
Really don’t understand the criticism of Hanson from some city fans. Trying to be controversial for the sake of it. One of our all time greats and I’ll be chuffed for him if he helps keep Wimbledon up.
Is there an eccentric billionaire Bradford city fan out there, that hates having money sat in their bank account, that wants to buy the club and offer what it takes to bring this chap back...
#bcafc
Have to say too, a 4th division game with just under 17k fans and Mark Hughes and Nigel Clough in the dugouts is a good advert for the division.
#bcafc
#Stags
Absolutely horrendous reading about the chaps who were killed on the M606 last night. One just doing their job, one going home in the early hours from doing their job. It really shouldn’t have to feel so dangerous having to drive home from bradford centre late at night.
Stats fans actually care about:
-Was there a fight
-Did the referee get injured
-Ball kicked over stand
-Animal on pitch
-Manager sent off
-Fat opposition player
-Policeman’s helmet knocked off by ball
-Final score
In these worrying times it's some comfort that our natural wildlife is thriving. Just been on my daily walk to Shipley Glen. Nature is truly healing itself. 🙏
Struggling a bit with everything at the moment so my wonderful work colleagues have ordered me to have a weekend off. Booked last minute hotel for Saturday night and train to Bristol for the
#bcafc
match! No match ticket… what could possible go wrong?
Just reading about the spurs Man City match. Again. VAR solely for pub and tv fans and the FIFA computer game generation. Destroys the point of going to watch the match as a live spectacle.
And
@Bradford_TandA
should hang their heads in shame. ‘Victims’? After their ‘stop the danger drivers’ campaign? An absolute sham. Interesting to see how they report the next death by lunatic joy riders.
You don’t sign the next McCall / Jones at 5pm on transfer deadline day. GB came with a reputation of finding young players, so let’s just see what happens. This season was always going to be about tempering expectations. The last 18 months can’t be undone in one summer.
#bcafc
Hi
@SkyHelpTeam
, I’m not sure how I’ve ended up with it, but I seem to have subscribed to the Leeds Losing Every Week on TV Channel. It’s been going on for some time now. How do I unsubscribe?
Devastating news. Our best player and the only chance we have of staying up. If I were an
#oufc
fan I’d be writing letters daily to the Oxford manager to plead him to sign Wright.
The St Albans winner coming from the Forest Green fullback falling over and putting the striker through on goal, then sat arms out pleading for a foul to the ref, as the ball nestled in the net just made it all the sweeter.

Speechless about this
@Bradford_TandA
front page. A big two fingers up to
@WYP_RPU
, the victims of the race track mentality that plagues Bradford and law abiding citizens who risk their lives on the roads after dark. Disgusting.
In other, better, news, I wasn’t expecting this at all. Nice to know someone out there likes the thing I made. Thanks to the people I work with and the people that come in to make it a pleasure to get up and go to work every day.
We’re overwhelmingly chuffed, and a bit shocked, to find out we’ve been named
@BradfordCamra
Pub of The Year 2020.
Hospitality all looks a bit uncertain at the moment so this is a such a wonderful boost for all of…
I hope there’s a statement exonerating Collins from Rahic and Rupp, with them taking responsibility for an appalling decision which not only jeopardised the club, but a young coach’s career. Then get a manager in to manage, back them and leave them to it.
#bcafc
It just shows what fan power can do.
#bcafc
fans (where other clubs have failed) have forced a change. Boycotting, a local, national, even international media campaign - none of that was by accident. Even the threat of the plane flyover… Well done all.
So sick of the driving in Bradford. It’s every night dodging young lads seemingly out to kill themselves or someone else. And even mornings now. Never known anything like it anywhere. 😬
Have to agree with the posts on here about no Hanson in the
@officialbantams
player of the decade. Possibly one of the key players in the club’s history, never mind decade. Rose as the club did and scored the important goals.
#bcafc
A 4-1 victory really needs to be celebrated with many delicious beery beverages in town followed by a Sheesh Mahal mutton masala (hot). Hopefully those days will be back soon.
#bcafc
I can’t think of anything that makes me worry more for the future of Bradford than this. Where’s the condemnation? They’re not victims. They’re the perpetrators. It’s lucky there were no victims. Are we to just accept Bradford’s roads are a death trap?
One thing I will miss when this is over, is evenings so peaceful all you can hear is birdsong. No traffic. No trains. No people. No planes. It really is rather nice.
Let’s hope all the lads getting released have other clubs lined up. Bit out of order to celebrate young lads losing their jobs during this pandemic.
#bcafc
#PiersMorgan
meeting a serial killer on ITV. Don’t know how he has the stomach for it. How can you sit next to man like that, talk to them, let alone be in the same room?
And the serial killer bloke seems a wrong ‘un too.
And AOC has had about 10 good games in three years and been a consistent part of one of the worst
#bcafc
teams in recent history. Another statement of intent by the club.
And let’s not blame referees for relegation. Spineless players, crooked owners, two atrocious January transfer windows, and 5 managers in less than 18 months are the cause. The players need sacking and the club sold back to local owners asap.
#bcafc
@WYSdaily
Still people going in shops with no masks on. Still. Staff and owners really need to enforce the law or lose good customers. Stop being afraid of the minority of the public who are just selfish arseholes.
Maybe if MC didn’t want the job and couldn’t turn it down, this is his way of getting out. Like making crap tea at work so no one ever asks you again.
#bcafc
Remember when
#bcfac
received national press for the football we played? The fans we had? The strength of character of the manager and the captain? The fairytale of shelf stacking to cup finals? Our stoicism? Now we’re held up as just another cautionary tale of poor ownership.
Fee sorry for Rowe. We’re not using him properly. Get him the ball in and around the box facing goal and he’ll get in on target. But he’s out wide or tracking back to the halfway line looking for the ball.
#bcafc
Pretty astonishing that
#bcafc
can be criticised for being prepared and informing fans of what procedures would be in place should a change in legislation effect the way their business operates. Would they rather they did nothing?
Pretty sure
#bcafc
fans were still supporting the team, ‘getting behind the lads’ and singing McCalls name after we played well and lost away at Oldham. Then Edin sacked him. Was that the fault of the fans? And that was before the bad weather. Compete bollocks.
Hopkin let down by a load of players not good enough sat on big contracts, or not caring because they’re off in the summer anyway. All the hard work of the PP years. An absolute scandal that it’s come to this. Maybe he could have rebuilt in the summer. We’ll never know.
#bcafc
Bloody hell. Horrific news re Stephen Darby. I hope
@officialbantams
can recognise him in someway. A testimonial style match. Was a key part in some of the greatest moments in the club’s history.
#bcafc
Understand
#bcafc
still interested in
#oafc
striker Conor McAleny despite comments from Oldham claiming they have been "knocked back" ...
@Bradford_TandA
Can I just say thank you to all the
#bcafc
fans that come to The Record Café pre and post match. You make working there on match days something to look forward to. Ace, seeing regular, and new faces. From all of us here, thanks. 👍🏻
4th division match. 22.5k attendance. 2k from
#LOFC
on a bank holiday Monday is outstanding. A great club, great fans, who I hope
#bcafc
meet next season.
Having to close a business. Furlough staff. Not see loved ones. Then see stuff like this. Hard not to get upset and angry. There’s people with kids there? And police?
The last 5 or 6 years of supporting
#bcafc
feels like getting to a certain point in a computer game and dying no matter what decision you make. Then you realise the game is bugged and it’s impossible to complete.
Hard not to get carried away when hearing McCall talking about
#bcafc
isn’t it? Really hope he can succeed. Expectation has just absolutely skyrocketed.
I have it in writing that I am probably the first German comic to perform at St. George’s Hall in Bradford. But it’s fair to say my countryman Edin Rahic’s left a considerably bigger legacy on the city.
This completion really is an insult to clubs like
#bcafc
when Manchester City actually have another game on the same night. The sooner it’s smothered with a pillow to put it out of its misery the better.
#bteamboycott
@AgainstLeague3
Have to say, I’m impressed with Adams’s
@BBCWYS
interview. Seems clear it’s going to be a longer job than we thought. And that whatever was wrong with
#bcafc
post PP was deep rooted. It’s frustrating celebrating a draw at home with Sutton but Adams needs time to build.
City winning 2-1 in a local derby (which it pretty much is) and town and Leeds both getting thumped 5-1. The football gods are smiling down on us today!!
#bcafc
Still going for
@Robbie9Fowler
. The only name that excites me. The sort of ethos that’s ingrained at Liverpool is what the club needs. It would generate global Interest, premier league links etc. But whoever the next manager is, they need to be given 2/3 seasons to build.
#bcafc
Roughly 90% if the football shirts / shorts I’ve seen around Bradford and Shipley today have been
#bcafc
. This is a good thing. 0% were Leeds. This is also a good thing.
Don’t want to be all ‘look at me with my feelings’ but it’s 10 yrs to the day since I went to check on my best mate to find out he was no longer with us. Just want to put his name back out in the ether which he rejoined. Miss you Lee. The world really isn’t that bad a place buddy
Just waiting for the post script at the end:
‘In memory of Peter, who passed away after a fall installing a chandelier on a high beam ceiling’
#escapetothecountry
Just remembered my exact drunken words to Stephen Darby “you and Phil Parkinson have done more for this city than any politician has, or will ever do.” I still stand by that.
#bcfac
Everyone has their own opinion, but I think the scenes from the stream of people paying their respects to the queen are beautiful. A reminder that people in the real world are kind. And social media is just a tiny enclave that brings out the worst in people.
