Looking for examples of poetry being placed in front of non-poetry specific audiences, such as poems in unusual magazines, billboards etc., in preparation for this week’s episode of The Poetry Space_!
Thanks for any help.
Reading
@RattleMag
at almost 40,000 feet felt so fitting! It’s incredible to see NFT Poetry highlighted and so thoughtfully curated! I’ll forever be grateful to
@timothygreen
for seeing the potential of our community so early.
Come join me at the back of the plane to discuss:
In honor of National Poetry Month, I’ll be dropping a new Seed Poem every single day in April, starting tomorrow!🐛 Here’s a description of my collection, and I can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on! 🌺
#NaPoWriMo
#NFT

New year, a new off-the-cuff space for talking about poetry! 🎉
Thrilled to announce that my co-host
@timothygreen
and I will talk all things poetry; a fusion between traditional and NFT poetry.
First week’s topic: Is poetry dead?☠️
Happy National Poetry Month! 🌷
All April, I'll be tweeting a brand new poem every day (which, unlike my daughter's frozen cereal, is not an April Fool's joke).
Poem
#1
is a sonnet minus one because we're missing a 🥎!
Would LOVE to read your
#NaPoWriMo
poems as replies 💜
So Twitter will be renamed Twitter X, which seemed somehow related to
#Barbie
and Oppenheimer. I explored the relationship the only way I know how: I wrote a poem. 🎉
Last night, I got my first ever green light on Submittable! A poem I wrote under a week ago is going to be digitally published on Thursday 🎉
So excited to share the poem with you all then! 💜
There won’t be a new episode of The Poetry Space_ on Friday. My apologies for disappointing anyone but I’m fulfilling my role in Vegas as the lone poet that plays in the
@WSOP
main event.
If I make the final table (something no woman has done this century) I will read a poem!🃏
After lamenting political poems even more vocally than normal as of late, perhaps I was doomed to write one! 🫣
Here's my
@RattleMag
prompt, to write a sonnet that has the title, "The End of ___ Is Not ___."
Excited to hear everyone's poems on the Prompt Lines tonight! 💜
I ❤️ that my first traditionally published poem is an NFT! 💜 Today, “Em Dash,” from issue
#80
of
@RattleMag
, was released as their daily poem—after I minted it on
@objktcom
at the start of 2023 🎆
Here’s a small thread 🧵 that is already more words than the poem itself 🎉
How can NFTs help grow poetry?
By enabling the curation of a collectible chapbook conceived, written, edited, designed, and minted all within the span of National Poetry Month. 🧵
I had 27 poetry rejections before the acceptance of this, my first (non-NFT) published poem! ✍️
I’m so excited to share with you all my little poem about inflation: 💜
Rattle: Poetry via
@rattlemag
Not many can say they had the first poem they ever wrote published but my daughter can! 😺 So proud of Lizzy for getting back on the scooter after a tumble, then having the courage to write about it! ❤️
Grateful to
@RattleMag
for their young poets anthology! 🥰
Why do I prefer X to Instagram for poetry even though the latter has a much bigger audience?
Insta is for “seeing” poems; X is for reading them as people come here expecting to do exactly that. 🤔
Just wrote this poem to honor
@TexDolly
--Doyle helped inspire me to play poker professionally and to try to help make the world a more positive place.
#RIPDoyle
I don’t believe I’ve ever seen this one from Billy Collins before—or is it that when I first read it, probably in
@poetrymagazine
in 2008—that I didn’t yet understand that kind of call.
Fielding interest for a 2023 weekly poetry space that I'm considering hosting. 🎉 Potpourri of Poetry
What's always held me back is my fear that no one would show up, and I already talk to myself about poems too much without broadcasting it!
But if I build it, would you come?
I started playing poker in college. Otherwise, I would've pursued a poetry MFA. Now I’m 36. I can’t go back to school atm but my goal is to be the best possible poet in the shortest amount of time! 🥳
With 1 "Homeschool MFA" semester down, here's a🧵on helpful work I've read👇
I don’t always match my nails to the book of the next featured guest on The Poetry Space_—but maybe I should!
Super excited to talk about Meter with
@BorisDralyuk
for episode 68 with
@timothygreen
and TPS Squad.
Any questions for us?
I take a lot of poetic inspiration from being named after my great grandmother, who was an artist orphaned at a young age. It also means I sometimes get to read very old letters with my name on them!
Here's my
@RattlePoetry
prompt poem of the week, inspired by Michael Meyerhofer's book. "What To Do If You're Buried Alive," to write a "What to do if X" poem.
Somewhat ironically, this one flew out 🚀
Three days into
@James_Holzhauer
‘s amazing run I took the over on 31 wins in a bet w/
@TeamMoshman
. So much fun to watch James crush as he destigmatizes gambling!
#majoredinonlinepokertoo
(Get ready to payup the usual tonight, Collin!)
Even though
#ThePoetrySpace_
's show on Edgar Allan Poe was yesterday, I can't stop reading more about him! 🎩
Currently obsessed with what he would've written had he been exposed to English Haiku. So here's my attempt at a Halloween Poe-ku 🐦⬛
The Tickle is the coolest magazine I've ever subscribed to! I feel like a counter-culture punk chilling with Andy Warhol as I savor it.
Thank you
@InWarhol
@GuysWily
@annaxmalina
& every awesome artist highlighted in the digital pages 💜
Today's been a bit rough, but poetry has always been there for me--ever since I was a little kid scribbling poems. I'm forever grateful ♥️
For those that have notifications on, here is poem 25 of Poetry Month, an American Sonnet. 🍍
Happy Halloween 🎃
While this is a bit of a trick, I hope you also find it to be a treat! 😈 I wonder if Edgar Allan Poe would’ve been angry about it 👻
#haiku
I’ve done it many times, but just realized I’m done saying “congratulations” when someone gets their poetry in a journal …
I wish I could tell poets congratulations right after they finish a successful poem instead because that’s the moment they should have reinforced.
I wanna make tomorrow’s space awesome b/c I’ve learned so much from the great poetry and lit web3 ones (like
@CoinSeer
@gregyounger
@theVERSEverse
@InWarhol
@E_H_Carpenter
)🎉
So forgive me sounding like an engagement farmer 👩🌾: What do you like the most/least about spaces? 🥕
Not the first time I've written
@taylorswift13
into a poem. 🎉
I'm excited that "poets" is probably being said more today than it has in a long time thanks to Taylor! 💜
Thrilled to have my poem published by
@frogpondjournal
—and sitting in the Atlanta airport mid-way to the
@haikunortham
conference with
@timothygreen
seems like the perfect time to tweet it! 🎉
So happy to see that
@OneArtPoetry1
updated their submission policies to state, “ONE ART will accept work that has previously been shared on social media.” ⭐️
Allowing shared poetry encourages writing poems in a major way! 💜 Well done
@MarkDanowsky
and
@eboninthehedges
💐
A common misconception about
#AIArtwork
is how "easy" it is to make. Anything we don't understand is like a 🪄, but as Hermoine would love to tell us--the incantation is the tricky part!
I ❤️ my 1/1 AI collectible chapbook covers:
On the last day to submit, here's a heartfelt thank you to
@RattleMag
+
@timothygreen
for choosing to highlight our NFT Poetry community with a tribute section. I'm in awe of how much CryptoPoetry has grown🌱 since this was announced last summer. Best of luck to every poet! 💜
What is Poetry?
After we beat a confession out of it tomorrow on The Poetry Space_ together, I’ll close out the hour by reading Billy Collins
@PoetryFound
How do you define poetry?
In the next episode we’re going to tackle this question with
@timothygreen
. Would love for you to weigh in with your replies here so I can pin your thoughts to the space before joining our conversation!
Confession: I used to feel grossly self-indulgent about reading my own poems aloud to myself once "finished," but once I let go of that, the music of my future poems improved a lot, as did my connection to them. ☀️
Spent today having a blast making this Sensory Poem version of "Barbie X Oppenheimer." 🚀
The goal was to imbue the original text poem with even more meaning through the creation of visual art and video. Juxtaposition abounds! 🎇
Hope you enjoy it! 💜
*Sound On*
