I lost my dad on this day in 2018. I miss him so very much. But his music lives on. Not only a great rock and roller, my dad played ragtime.This is ‘Daisy Rag’ he wrote and named after his mum. 🎹

This is the door of a little cottage in Ashton, Northamptonshire, where ‘Ain’t No Pleasing You’ came into the world. Written by my dad & Dave around 1980, they spent a few weeks here writing quite a few more songs!

1943. I miss him every day but am ever determined to celebrate him through music. This will always be a favourite, it’s nostalgic in an uplifting way, I like how he sings it and it’s about a piano.

Thank you for all your lovely messages and clips from my show at Hoxton Hall last night. Pure happiness to play songs with my dear godfather Dave and your welcome for him was so heartwarming XXX

How lovely to learn from

Mum & Dad with the brilliant Irene Handl, at The Dominion Theatre, London. A Chas & Dave fan, Irene came to the show. As a surprise for Dad, Mum arranged for her to come on stage, as he was a fan of hers too!

Dick Van Dyke won an Emmy this week. At the age of 98, that makes him the oldest actor to do so…and that deserves a Mary Poppins number!

There used to be a music shop here once upon a time. I placed a card in its window advertising for a bass player. I found a great one, who was also friends with
@mepaulgarner
who had his own radio show. Paul played my song. We met. We fell in love. We married ♥️
The love from everyone for my dear dad

Happy World Book Day. Once upon a time, Ladybird books were sold in petrol stations and my dad would bring one home when he was on the road playing gigs. They are the childhood books closest to my heart…that deserves a song…so I wrote one! 🐞 🎶

Reminiscing at the piano today. This is a piece of music I composed when I was 16 for my Music GCSE (on this very piano). It’s called ‘Halcyon Days’ I’ll play it for you.
