It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of our very own Chas Hodges. Despite receiving successful treatment for oesophageal cancer recently, Chas suffered organ failure and passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of this morning.
Chas recently had the second scan since his cancer treatment ended and has been told by his doctors that they don't need to see him for another three months - which is great news. We'll have a little bit more news for you tomorrow. So keep an eye out.
A big thank you for putting Chas & Dave firmly back in the top ten of the album charts this past week with the new Gold collection. A fitting tribute to Chas.
This coming Sunday marks the first anniversary of Chas's death. To mark this anniversary we will be uploading Chas' memorial show from last Xmas to the official Chas & Dave Youtube channel for you all to watch and enjoy from 9AM this Sunday.
Thank you to all who got in touch asking about Chas' funeral details. We held a small, private service earlier this week for Chas. But stay tuned as we'll shortly be announcing details of a special memorial event for later this year.
An evening of music and entertainment in memory of Chas Hodges. Shepherd's Bush Empire, Dec 17th.
"It'll be very strange for me playing a show without my mate. But I'm sure he'd have been well-pleased with the line-up that will be paying tribute to him".
Dave Peacock.
Chas & Dave don't hold press conferences when announcing a new album. A rough phone clip recorded during a visit to Cookes' Pie & Mash shop in Hoxton does the trick.
Many thanks for all the kind messages on this, the second anniversary of Chas' passing. Today we've launched the new official Chas Hodges website at with pics, music, and info. Have look.
Chas and Dave's links with Spurs are obvious. But they particularly loved playing in Liverpool and made many great friends in the city. So they'd see tonight's CL final as "the friendly final". May the best team win...(COYS!)
Very chuffed that we've been invited by the Libertines to share their mainstage with them at the Wheels & Fins festival in Broadstairs, Kent on September 9th.
Wishing you all a very merry, safe Christmas, and a happy new year. We'll leave you with the original Christmas Jamboree Bag album from 1981 (yes, 40 years ago!)
Starting the weekend playing a lovely old Christmas number with my Godfather Dave. A song his dad sang to him when he was little ‘Sending A Note To Mr Santa Claus’

Forty years ago today Chas & Dave released "I Wish I Could Write A Love Song". The song was inspired by Chas writing the words on an anniversary card for his wife Joan. To mark the 40 years, a recently-discovered alternative version of the song will be released on Oct 7th.
Wishing you all a very happy Easter. On this very day 40 years ago this was what the singles chart looked like in the Melody Maker MM, April 17th, 1982.

Back in 1992, Chas, Dave, and their old mate Joe Brown recorded “Mammy’s Arms” which was never released, but was recently re-discovered. On August 25th it will finally be released as a digital single available to download and stream.
Ten years ago this week Chas & Dave closed the Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium. The future king and his other half rather enjoyed it!
