Oso Ighodaro is one of my all-time favorite players at Marquette, and that is not hyperbole. I think he has been equally vitally to this program as BEPOY Tyler Kolek. I don’t think we will see a better combo of leader/talent/teammate at #mubb for a generation. A few memories:

To this point, Nova really carried the banner for the program. UConn is doing that now, but MU and CU need to show up and at least make sweet sixteen. The Big East is a gauntlet of a conference and this is a crock of shit to not reward more teams who navigated it.

I’ll always remember the way he called attention to OMax on camera last year saying, “he doesn’t get the accolades nor attention he deserves (complete BE snub last year), but he is as important as anyone here, and we wouldn’t be here without him.” It was beautiful leadership.

Hats off to #sjubb for pushing us hard as hell. That was a wild game. We are lucky they cooled down from 3 or it might’ve happened for them. With a a little luck, they look like a tourney team. And for @frankingeneral , I never want to hear “Soriano owns Oso” ever again.

I’ve appreciated the number of posts of seen from #mubb fans that are NOT looking past Butler tomorrow night. UConn has DePaul so they are thinking about Saturday, but we don’t have the luxury. Let’s keep the main thing the main thing: go win at Hinkle for a second year in a row.

No more #mubb chatter about Saturday! There is a huge game against Butler at tomorrow night. They beat us at home to wreck our streak and they are hard to beat at Hinckle, plus they have a wily coach. Even the national commentators refer to their style as "Butler Bullyball."

It does feel like we needed them to have a normal night from 3 if we were going to win. Still, #mubb showed that program defining grit. Love this team. Wouldn’t trade any of them for anything else. I pray we get healthy for the tournament.

The fact Marquette, without Tyler Kolek, is as close as they are on a night UConn has shot 13/25 from 3 and Karaban/Spencer are hot does say something. Huskies are just too potent and tough.

I feel like this is how most people feel about us. I’m fine with it. Very few have watched us closely. I think the season can be broken into three distinct parts: early dominance, shooting slump, playing hungry. I don’t care what we are ranked. I think we can beat anyone.

It is wild to me how many UConn fans are talking shit to Marquette fans about our early exit last year. Didn’t they get upset in the 5/12 game the year before? If anyone should understand a team coming back on a mission, it’s them.

It blows my mind to remember that Wojo recruited both Dawson Garcia AND Justin Lewis in the same class as Oso. So he redshirted as a freshman. Then he was a backup as a sophomore. But then he became better than either one ever were, which is truly saying something.
