I am a hopeful agnostic. Hopeful that there is a god. Not necessarily the kind in the traditional sense, but more of a higher power. This might upset some of my atheist followers, but I don't care. The fact is that I'm pursuing this matter on reason, not faith.

A not insignificant reason for me leaning towards atheism is probably due to how horrible fundamentalists treat the LGB+ community. Many of them will treat these people as lesser, mentally ill and morally corrupt. But I will defend them to my dying breath.

Universalism is not only the mest tenable version, but it is also the most intuitive as it coincides with how we view love. Any other version requires completely different concept of love, that makes it unrecognisable to us as love.

I don't see how penal substitution theory can be squared with any view of hell: If we deserve eternal torture, but Jesus wasn't eternally tortured, then he didn't receive our punishment. Same goes for annihilation, isolation or purgation.
