Just because evolution is taught in your textbooks doesn't make it true. Yes, some scientists believe in evolution, but what they don't teach you is that many scientists completely reject the theory of evolution because there is no real evidence to back it.

The record of annually formed tree rings, sedimentary layers, and ice layers goes back tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of years in some cases. These can be checked independently with C-14 dating. It simply isn’t possible for the Earth to be less than 10k years old.
