Looks like Riot is now blocking requests from Recon Bolt (error code 403). We had a good run! Sad to see it come to an end like this.

@risen2424 @ignCaoy @WillFPS I’m literally level 200 lol, I don’t “know little” about this game. It makes sense under the assumption that your performance on each side is independent, but now that I’m considering it it’s clear that that’s not the case in practice, so yes, I will remove it.

@ignCaoy @WillFPS I was just going through the data I was getting and figured “hey, this is kinda neat” so I displayed it. Ultimately, it should have no effect on the game, since you end up playing both sides anyway, but I can see it being a problem for mental—I should probably remove it.

@WillFPS 2. Recon Bolt does not have a delay before letting people lock in, true, but this is no worse a situation than without the app, where people who have faster PCs or are faster at clicking the necessary buttons (or set up a macro) get dibs. [more]

@WillFPS (In fact, once I learned people were using the app to stream snipe, I immediately disabled viewing profiles of people in streamer mode, and only re-enabled once I had a robust anonymization system in place. I’ve gone to great lengths to prevent this!)

@Average_Jonas What app are you talking about? Recon Bolt had that issue last year before I patched it in October, and I've made every effort to prevent the app from being used for stream sniping ever since.

I've been looking for a clean & leak-proof way to anonymize profiles of incognito players for the longest time, which is why I didn't want to disable it altogether. For now, I've made it so you can't view anonymous profiles at all.

@amalol232 That's something I tried to get a good answer for from them for the longest time! I think what it boils down to is that people being able to lock in faster with a 3rd-party app was bad press, and shutting it down was legal and easier than any other solution for them :/

@ChadNotChud Using tabs feels more natural to me because they express the very semantics of indentation. In practice, they also let the viewer decide how they want the code to look, rather than the writer forcing their choice on everyone. Plus manually backspacing through spaces sucks lol

@snapeuh Hi! People almost exclusively seem to use Discord to troubleshoot their issues, so you won’t find much on GitHub. The first thing I’d try for your issue is to restart your phone! I’ve had some bugs (which I thought I’d fixed) involving the Widgets process not getting new data.
