Yikes! Since we've been married, my wife has always made her own medical decisions. I see no valid reason a woman should have to sneak and get such a commonplace procedure.
@GShaneMorris
As a homeschool alumni, I strongly disagree. The "weirdness" is nervousness due to lack of socialization.
Nice try, but stick to topics you know about.
@Brian_Sauve
Bro. That is how algorithms operate. Those much smarter and tech savvy than me create software that identifies people with certain internet search patterns. Most of us have never had the problems you're describing here. I'll pray you get the help you clearly need.
I wrote my capstone research thesis on the early church views on violence. My emphasis was on military service, but I was surprised to see, for the first 400 years, the church was unanimously opposed to all violence, including military and legal executions.
I had a pastor I highly respect once tell me, on issues where he is not 100% certain, he'd rather err on the side of grace. If I had any remaining doubts about women in ministry, I'd support them for that reason alone.
What if egalitarians are wrong?
“Whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in this I rejoice” (Phili 1:18)
What if complementarians are wrong?
Half of God’s Church has been unjustly silenced and prohibited from “living a life worthy of their calling” (Eph 4:1)

@_nomadic_soul
No. You simply made a really stupid comment and I'm one of the many who called you out on it.
It's not too late to admit you were wrong. You can even take down the tweet and we'll accept that.
@EricRussell82
@PastorBenMarsh
I had several coworkers and multiple family members who believed it. None of them talk much about it anymore. I wonder why?
@emilykmay
Eh... I was talking to a single friend who feels very different about it. She said she pays for herself on the first date because she doesn't want the guy to feel like she owes him something.
@_nomadic_soul
It's always funny to me how people make such stupid assumptions. Contrary to what many seem to believe, the most liberal people are often the ones who were raised in the tightest conservative echo chambers.
@black__dubIiner
@hullojess
I got all mine when I was 23 and joined the military. I was envious of those who brought their vaccine records with them but oh well. I'm all caught up now and done enough research to appreciate it.
@theacountantcpa
@badlibtakes
But she was allowed to come, and she arrived via plane, two things not allowed for most of those coming through our southern border. Look up what that journey looks like for them. There's a few books I can recommend if you want to catch up.
@bea_corrine
I don't know who you are, but this popped up in my feed. I'm deeply saddened by this prognosis.
I'm not an expert, but on a potentially brighter note, my mom had most of her digestive track removed when she was 16 and lived several decades after.
You may want a 2nd opinion.
@theacountantcpa
@badlibtakes
Oh, so you're one of those "I'm glad they let me in, now slam the door shut behind me" types.
But that's beside the point. Your questions above (why don't they come legally) prove you don't know as much as you think.
@JennJosie
@HollyStallcup
That's so cool! I proposed in what looks like a similar setting, and did not plan for photos. I showed up early and sat on a bench with roses and wearing my suit. A scrapbooker passed by, asked what I was doing. She waited for my gf, took pictures, and emailed them.
@ZachWLambert
What gets me is when women are allowed to lead children, but not adults, with the justification women are more easily deceived. But with that assumption, children should be completely off-limits.
In reality, though, it has nothing to do with what's Biblical. It's about power.
@JJ_Denhollander
I missed the Bible passage that describes how John the Baptist personally contacted Herod before his public criticism.
Chapter and verse anyone?
@AdiaBarkley
I felt this one! I never had the legal battle you did but had if I hadn't "stolen" mine away when I was 21, I likely would have. Of course I was homeschooled and yes. My parents expressed regret they allowed us kids to be documented because "it's a form of government control."
@andreharris89
@ChuckCallesto
Yeah.. I'm a Christian and heterosexual.
Those shirts are offensive.

Do any of these decals look familiar? Or the slogan WWG1WGA (where we go one, we go all)?

"Make certain to be available anytime your husband wants sex, but don't actually want it yourself, because that makes you a floozy."
Got it. I'll tell my wife...
@_nomadic_soul
I see what you did here lol
I think we're in agreement when I say, you CAN be a present for your kids and also work full time regardless of gender.
@JonesBarron
I'm old enough to remember when "skintone" was a color band-aids came in, as if all of us were Caucasian.
I don't recall an outrage over that...
@Franklin_Graham
@PandaExpress
I have friends from Mexico and think Taco Bell is the best Mexican food in America. I had a Doritos locos supreme and nacho fries today and it was great.😂😂😂
@notcapnamerica
Hmm.. don't threaten me with a good time. I'm a white, heterosexual, protestant, man with a college degree paid for by the military. That's 6 levels of privilege for those counting.
I applaud increased diversity.
@PerfInjust
A church that can be destroyed by things like "wokeness" or "white women" is not built on a strong foundation; certainly not the one founded by Christ.
I welcome the destruction of such a "church."
@RottenInDenmark
Yep. I had this argument with someone recently. I said, "check the top substance abuse rates by US state, then check homeless rates by state." There's no correlation. Then check cost of living... the causation is obvious.
@natgrace79
Natalie Grace, it is faithfully consistent people like you that first made me question my views of LGBTQ from a Biblical perspective.
Keep being you!
@jackngraham
@robertjeffress
Jack Graham, I graduated Seminary in your church sanctuary.
Seeing your capitulation to the ever increasingly compromised republican party, in place of the kingdom Jesus came to establish, I am embarrassed by your association with my alma mater.
@_nomadic_soul
Please correct me if I'm misatributing this but I think it was
@SkyeJethani
who said most people deconstructing are doing so because what they see is not a true reflection of Christ.
@JoashPThomas
I'm at a point I don't care how good a theology is if there's no fruit. To that end, I take Bono more seriously than most actual theologians.
@aprilajoyr
Yes, you, me and all the most liberal people I know all came from hard right conservative homes.
Outbreeding the left is clearly not working.
@TomBuck
YES!! Preach it!
Because there are no other issues more pressing within the SBC is there? Certainly not being caught red handed covering up for sexual predators.
@desiringGod
DG lost me long ago making theological stances in things that have no clear guidance from scripture or relevance to anything. Cremation vs burial, women as cops and whatever else strikes the editors fancy. Now beards lol...
@itsallisonleigh
Liberty University in person? Huge red flag right there. Not a deal breaker but if I were looking for a date, I'd pause. That goes double if I were female.
@_nomadic_soul
Yep... this is why I don't chime in with my opinions about things unless I really know for certain. In my younger days, I knew it all. Now I cringe at some of the positions I used to defend.
@thescottbarber
I haven't read the book, but I'm certain she has a chapter dedicated to those pastors who sold out to the Trump agenda.
Right?
Oh, my bad. Must have been an oversight.
@davidswanson
I like the substance, but know the investment would have had a better return elsewhere. The ads were made to address the churches image problem. But that problem did not come from misunderstanding Christ. It came from understanding him, but seeing the church fail to follow him.
@JPaulNorton
@emilykmay
Ok. So women dress attractive to attract the attention of men, except when they dress to attract the attention of other women.
Got it!
@amyfritz
I haven't read the book but agree with your sentiment. I was raised in an abusive Christian environment. The unwrapping of that came in several layers over a few decades. I'd like up say I'm done, but I don't even know. I'm always learning.
@AndrewNWoodard
You have a ton of reading to do. A few suggestions:
Church Called Tov by Scott McKnight/Laura Barringer,
Redeeming Power by Diane Langberg
Restored by Lecrae.
Or better yet, sit down with some deconstructers and listen to their stories.
@kkdumez
I wonder, do men who call out the same evil face the same fire? I feel like the answer is no but
@scotmcknight
would have a better perspective. Wolfe affirmed my view by calling out you and Julie Roy, with no mention of Hohn Cho.
@KaeleyT
Is this a common thing with ladies? I had it happen recently and was confused. He sent my profile picture (taken while on a 12 mile hike at Denali), and called me a low T man. In context, I was saying women shouldn't be disqualified from pastoral ministry on account of gender.
@IAmMarielleT
I can't be much help on preaching tips, but on Twitter, I have been down the 1 Tim 2:12 road many times. Engaging with men like this is detrimental to mental health, but if you ask, you'll find his approach to v15 very different from his approach to v12.
I wonder why...
@PatriarchySammi
Can a saved Christian be a Republican?
It works both ways. If Jesus were here today, I promise he would fail to fit expectations of either party.
@LeahBSassy
For several years, I missed out on Beth Moore because I was somehow convinced she was not edifying or possibly heretical. I'm not even certain where I "learned" that.. it was just known.
I now know her to be one of my favorite authors, and likely my favorite twitter account.
@brent_waggoner
@HealingHollye
I was discussing this with a few friends recently. A big takeaway: grow where you're planted is true, but a key word is "grow." If it's an abusive environment, LEAVE!!
@rickpidcock
Francis Collins was a big help in providing clarity on this topic. I was homeschooled and getting over the "joke" of evolution was a huge hurdle.
@ZachWLambert
Racism is a modern construct, but the OT has far more to say about taking care of strangers than it does homosexuality. But I'm preaching to the choir on this thread.
@dylan_r_price
It may help to know where replacement theory originated. I recommend this, a book written from the perspective of a former high ranking KKK member. Spoiler: KKK leaders realized they were losing ground so invented a new way of communicating their white supremacy. KKK never died.
@niceblackdude
@SweetPea1636
You clearly don't understand the monumental burden of proof which rests on those attempting to prove their innocence after being convicted. The fact the 5 were legally exonerated would take far more than an Ann Coulter opinion piece to overturn.
@PhilipBPayne
I was never fully committed but somehow knew I was complementarian. Then I wrote a research paper on the topic. By the time I was finished, I was (and now more so) egalitarian.
@HollyStallcup
Another REAL important item if you have any gas appliances in your home is a CO alarm. Thankfully, the previous owners left one behind. It went off one day and was the only indication we had of a CO leak. My wife and son would've died before I got home.
@_nomadic_soul
For me, it was the vitriol against Beth Moore. I did some digging, expecting to find glaring heresy.
Nope.. just a woman who occasionally fills pulpits. Then I dug to figure out why exactly I didn't think a woman could preach. The rest of the castle fell in short order.
@ZachWLambert
@CarlosHappyNPO
@thehappygivers
The pushback on this is very telling.
"Don't use politics to accomplish Christian goals but vote for the unapologetic serial rapist narcissist because he claims to be pro life."
@AngEngland
Yes! My parents expressed regret over getting us our birth certificate and SSN before "they knew better." They (my mom and step dad) then withheld those documents from me so I couldn't leave.
The "spirit of fear" (2 Tim 1:7) is alive and strong in certain "Christian" circles.
@dalehuntington
I think the more important issue is the cognitive dissonance demonstrated by most majority white churches. Babies being aborted is important (agreed) but never a mention of racial injustice for fear of being charged with CRT. Not everybody knows what happened on a Saturday and
@kateshellnutt
More should be saying that but I don't think anyone is out of touch enough to think there actually is adequate care available to vulnerable women.
@JosiahHawthorne
6 months ago, I'd agree with this.
But then I tried Turkish Delight in Saudi Arabia.
I can't say for certain I'd stand to that sort of temptation.
@QueenBubie01
@_nomadic_soul
As a guy who has spent a total of 2 years in the Middle East, all with large groups of other men, yes. How a woman dresses has virtually no impact on lust factor.
@ZachWLambert
Having worked in restaurants, I can affirm this is absolutely true! The hardest shift to work is lunch on Sunday. You work twice as hard for the smallest tips. It was a shocking experience my first time.
@kevinmnye1
How do you know me?
Add The Patriot, and you have the blessed trinity of Gibson cinema.
Throw in Conspiracy Theory for bonus points, but I feel like nobody outside our family watched that one.
@XianJaneway
@johnnarae
Not to mention the ripple influence. I never heard of Bill Gothard till I was an adult and don't believe my parents read out followed him. But we definitely followed the general precepts.
@jacobhuneycutt_
There's a really good book you might benefit from on this very topic. Bottom line: Church history is not as unanimous as we're often lead to believe.
@dalehuntington
you shouldn't be held responsible for neglecting one instance, and I'm not sure about yours specifically but the broader silence in most churches is deafening.
@CertifiedFMT
@RevKimWChafee
I feel you and I'm sorry. We had to take our 7yo to the children's hospital here in Fort Worth. They were slammed with covid kids and the Dr said she hadn't seen one yet who was vaccinated.
@geoffbaron
@PachuauMatana
He actually got pushback along those lines. Letter from a Birmingham Jail was not addressed to overt racists. It was addressed to moderates.
