My daughter's boss is a bully. Who forces a 23 year old on minimum wage to give 2 months notice? They broke the law by changing her contract without consulting her and now threaten her with an unfavorable reference if she does not complete 2 months notice. Should I name them?
@HuntStunning
No, that's not the contract she signed on starting with them. They issued a new contract in June without consulting with her and she never signed it
@implausibleblog
The problems didn't exist until we left the EU π€·ββοΈ
They are dumping shit in the rivers and seas because they can, not having to meet EU Regs.
She had an appraisal back in April and she raised a number of concerns. They convinced her these were all in her head as the concerns were about her new manager and the director doesn't take criticism well. They changed her line manager without giving any communication to her.
After that appraisal they decided to make her notice 2 months because they were aware she was unhappy and likely to leave. Other members of staff have left recently and given a fraction of that in notice.

Interestingly, my team now work from home, not had much sick leave at all. I guess they are not mixing with as many people. Not sitting on packed trains or in cramped office space.
@Gaudd
It was SNP opposition day, the motion was fairly worded. All Labour had to do was vote for it. But then you NEVER get a labour MP voting for any SNP motions.
@BettinaSRoss1
There were a bunch of nursery school kids doing exactly this in Pollock park in Glasgow this week. It should be mandatory. They were sliding down a muddy hill having an absolute ball. Laughing out loud.

@Lookinupatstars
I told her not to sign the 2 month version as she was unhappy and wanted to move. She is in a junior position no need for 2 months notice.
@bjc5473
Yes, they are despicable. I know of a young boy who was taken on as an apprentice brick layer, after 2 years they haven't sorted his college out yet.
I stayed in a hotel in Glasgow recently. I had no idea what the function of this item in my room was, so asked at reception. But they wouldnβt talk about it.
@georgeeaton
Well that's shocking, lets all Vote Conservative. Said NO one in Scotland ever.
My taxes pay for a fair pay for our nurses, and ambulance staff and a whole host of other public services.
My children will leave university without 50K of debt.

Voter suppression is all abhorrent. Brought in by the most corrupt government in the history of the UK in a feeble attempt to gerrymander the result. It needs scrapping by the next government.
@SteveDH42
Her signed contract says one month. They issued a new contract a couple of months ago which she never signed. They issued it without consulting with her.
