Shame @Independent_ie on this headline. The second paragraph states “most with underlying health conditions”. Please stop feeding anti-vaxxers headlines to retweet.

The reality of our abysmal ability to add electricity production to our grid is being laid bare. It’s not data centres that are the problem, it’s that we don’t produce enough electricity and what we do produce is ridiculously expensive. We need to follow Finland to nuclear.

@OwenHanleyLives The @gardainfo should be policing, not shutting it down. Our young people have nowhere to go, the elderly are vaccinated, the kids have nowhere to go in the hardest lockdown in Europe! @MichealMartinTD @LeoVaradkar @1Hildegarde @eamonocuiv this is stupidity.

Well I made it. 39km in August - 3 x Galway Bay Swims. A rough 2.6km this evening to close it out. A great way to spend a month in the time of Covid. Thanks to all who donated - open for another few days:

Every single one of these would actually decrease tax take, as companies and people would leave the country. PBP would turn us into the European Venezuela. And all derived from a zero-sum beggar-thy-neighbour worldview.

@rtenews Just four PBP measures get over €30bn extra tax 👉 Increase corporation tax rate to 20% = €20bn 👉 2% wealth tax on wealthiest 5% = €5.9bn 👉 Higher income tax rates over €100k = €3bn 👉 Increase employers PRSI to EU norm = €2.6bn

Galway needs the Ring Road as well as BusConnects and cycle lanes. The GCRR would enable the breathing space for the inner city. We need a city of 200,000, not capped at 100,000! Where is the political will @fiannafailparty @FineGael ??

The Greens will try and kill this. If they do they will deny Galway the ability to grow to 200,000 people and beyond. The West of the city will be locked away. We need ALL of GCRR, BusConnects and cycle ways to achieve our potential. And EVs can take care of the climate aspects.

ABP have approved the Galway City Ring Road. Ruining the view of Menlo Castle is the start of the damage this would do. Urban sprawl and a car dependent city. There may be a judicial review and they have to find the money, so this story will run for another while #GCRR

An Taisce want us all to live in Hobbiton. Here they are objecting to 230 apartments on a brown field site in Galway city centre. If they are successful our children will never own their own homes. Stop NIMBYism.
