Today when we rented our car the lone female clerk was clearly overwhelmed and people were being impatient with her. Except us. We treated her with empathy and kindness. She gave us a free upgrade and 142 miles of free fuel. Kindness is free. #Grateful

Well my blood work came back after 18 months of dietary change. Sugars went from 6.8 to 5.6 and all other indicators are excellent. No danger of being put on diabetes medicine and doc was very happy I followed his advice. I’m grateful I listened.

40 years ago today the Ocean Ranger sank. My friend, the late Allan Rowe worked on the OR up until its last sailing. He had gotten a radio broadcast job and quit days before. One of his first broadcasts was reporting on the sinking. The guilt never left him.

This is from my graduation 25 years ago. It’s the last picture I have of the 3 of us. 4 months later dad was diagnosed with lung cancer and died weeks later. Mom two years later in a car accident. As an only child I cherish every moment I can remember them.

Rent control on a longer term temporary basis while housing stock is built works. If developers know it will eventually lift it will not stop them from building and market will even out. Until then rent control is one tool to keep people housed.
