With 144 years of coaching football Ron Stolski, Chet Stevenson & Scott Parsons announced their resignation from Brainerd Warriors football program today. The coaching accolades were many. The wins were 2nd-most in the state. The lives touched - immeasurable.

Brainerd Warriors football has a new head football coach. Jason Freed will step in for retired Ron Stolski and lead Warriors next fall. Freed, a former head coach & state champion at Houston, Minn., has been Brainerd's D-coordinator for more than a decade.

Brainerd Warriors girls golf team is headed back to state for 1st time since 1999. Warriors tied Alexandria after 2 rounds. That pushed deciding factor to 5th score. Senior Alexis Menghini shot 86 to beat Alexandria's 5th score by 1 stroke. WOW.

Breaking news from desk of Brainerd Warrior AD Jack Freeman. Former STMA head coach Jerr Johnson has accepted head boys' hockey position at Brainerd. Johnson was an assistant for Warriors last season. The hire is pending board approval Monday, May 8.

A bit of a shock as I got into work today. Brainerd AD Charlie Campbell has accepted a job with the Minnesota State High School League and will no longer in Brainerd. One of the best to work with from my standpoint. He will be missed.

Final Mid-State Conference boys' & girls' golf championship was played at Vintage at Staples. These 2 coaches played together as high school opponents in the 1967 tournament 57 years ago. C-I's Rich Aulie, left, and Grand Master Glen Hasselberg of Staples. Both with state titles.
Wadena-Deer Creek’s Noah Ross contributed 36 points, including a game-clinching three with seconds left to secure an 85-80 win against the Staples-Motley Cardinals.
S-M’s Josh Lombard tallied 27 points and Griffin Webster recorded 25 for the Cardinals.

Brainerd senior Erik Stoxen is headed back to the Class 3A state boys golf tournament after placing fourth in the Section 8-3A tournament Wednesday, June 2, at Rich Spring Golf Club. Fellow senior Cole Proctor was one place away from reaching the state tournament.
Get the fire trucks ready, the Brainerd Warriors are coming home on fire as they defeated Annandale 4-3 to win the Section 8-2A Team title and advance to the Class 2A State Tournament.

Izzy Olson won the bars and beam and all-around and Brenna Deason won the floor to lead the Brainerd Warriors to a 140.325-139.250 CLC win over St. Cloud Tech. It's Brainerd's first win over the perennial conference favorite in 14 years.
