I don't think a big enough deal is being made of Germany's foreign policy shift. Each time Germany has shifted like this, it changed the world. If *this* is Putin's legacy - to make an enemy of a unified + strong Germany for the first time since '45 - What a colossal mistake.

i'm two pages into the national security council's new "western hemispheric strategic framework" and can already report that it is one of the most tone-deaf, historically ignorant, and hypocritical pieces of policy writing i've ever read.

Not ashamed to say I have no earthly clue what happened with NS1 and NS2 -- and I haven't seen a theory out here yet that makes sense to me.

That division is gone. All the Jewish opposition parties have already come out and literally said “there is no opposition, no coalition, at times like these.” Bibi is commander in chief and he has the full support of the Jewish population of Israel behind him now.

They will be ruled by Beijing. This was already a fait accompli. The question is what will happen to Taiwan.

I just read a study on what could happen if the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam were to fail due to earthquake or soil degradation etc...and it was legit one of the most terrifying scenarios I've read in over a decade of doing political analysis. Srsly. Scary as frack.

This was a hard article for me to write. I tried to be v careful about what is possible versus likely. Ukraine is under a lot of pressure, and you won't understand that by focusing on Russia. Bigger problems here. Shout out to our graphics team on this one too. #geopolitics

#Ukraine lost part of its territory nearly five years ago. Was that just the beginning? As @JacobShap explains, the country is in danger of experiencing disintegration similar to what Poland endured in the 18th century.

...as opposed to growing up under the shadow of stagflation, OPEC oil embargo, Black Monday, HIV, Iran-Contra and Iranian revolution? Or the shadow of Vietnam, JFK assassination, MLK and Malcolm X assassinations, and kent state? What is the point here? Every gen has their shit

If you are an American and under 37, your entire adult life has been under the shadow of the Forever Wars, the Great recession, a pandemic, and, it looks like, another recession. This is what is shaping the generational divide on politics.

Rant: That anyone gives ppl like Bolton and Kissinger a platform in 20fracking22 is mind boggling / indicative of the low quality of policy makers + our media ecosystem. These hypocritical geriatric failed “statesmen” should be on the street selling pencils from a cup.
