I always loved Atlas Shrugged, but thought it caricaturized reality. Now I realize that The Great Man Theory of history is literally real, and is even more true in reality than in Atlas Shrugged. Biggest white pill ever.

Developing a non-neurotoxic mdma that ppl can take regularly, might be critical for helping us pass The Great Filter. Would shift humanity’s baseline state of consciousness so much that feats like mass global coordination would go from being brutally difficult to highly doable.

Importantly, even the best politics of today assume a substrate of standard human agency as their "fuel". It sounds silly *right now*, but sustainable long-lasting non-neurotoxic MDMA-like consciousness will change the landscape of viable politics. My strategy: plan for that.

@MilanGriffes @nickcammarata @m_ashcroft @neuralink @Aryeh___ Have only smoked it. What i wrote above is for plugging it, which is kinda gross, but is supposedly the most gradual and gentle way of taking it. Its also more accurate for dosing imo. Will prob try many ROAs.

@RichardMCNgo Hi Richard! I’d love to hear what you think might be underserved interventions for helping AGI go well. Happy holidays!

I hate the ever-accelerating trend of ppl cancelling those in their circles who dont perfectly fit their ideology. Total absurdity. ALL ppl + ideologies are HIGHLY imperfect. Defend your stances, but keep communication lines open. Otherwise will lead to alienation, collapse, war.

@sashachapin 100%. The way to avoid this (in my experience), is to quickly preface whatev youre going to disagree w, w some acknowledgement that you're attacking the IDEA instead of the PERSON. Much trickier / more delicate in group settings though. Always best to do this 1-on-1 if you can.

If it’s a stupid question, there’s an obvious answer. If there’s an obvious answer, ppl should be able to tell me what that is. And yet, they cant, which makes me think: they’re more interested in obedience than asking the most central/obvious question there is: what is its goal?

@ModelYendofICE @max_hodak Have had the same thought. IMO, AI progress is “doubly exponential” for two reasons: 1. Moores Law. 2. The fact that gains in AI will be used to improve AI faster. So AGI/ASI timelines are substantially more aggressive than Moore’s Law.
