But a good SSG is a great teacher. 2v2 basketball to ONE 7 foot hoop is A GREAT TEACHER for small children. Better than 5v5 full court.

Dribbling is first principle, not passing. If you have the ball (no matter the field position) your objective is to score as quickly & easy as possible. The best way to do that is to dribble directly to and into the goal. The market understands this, but often coaches do not.

If Isolated skills were good for you, it would not be able to be falsified. Isolated skills would build better, faster and more efficient movements, but If movements emerged that were slower or obviously inefficient, that would falsify Those $75/hr coaches have a problem..

Play. It's the greatest thing. It teaches more than an hour long practice. I saw shot passes, lookoffs, stop ups, sauces, weaves, drops... They make their own game rules. Aren't armored head to toe, so they are more self aware. They ref each other. They try new things.

This is funny because it is true. and also sad. Everything you try to do to win a game hurts the development of the player If you coach up possession play, positional play, whatever, too soon you rob the child of learning it on their own and understanding it fully

Why does RAE exist? We are imprisoned by a belief system that over values speed and undervalues the possibilities of children. Speed (or power, strength, size) is really compensation for lack of ability. It is time to take a more open, freeing view of development

Take advantage of this time and give kids room Let them reconcile with boredom and learn to carry on a conversation (with themselves). Only through wasting time can they really stop wasting time (like ball tapping drills couched as homeWORK)

Pretty sure that @MNTHUNDACADEMY and @SalvoSoccer @WPSL programs deserve WAY more attention. Probably the best two teams in state (including @USLWLeague ) All Minnesota girls, non-profits and WPSL is the top non pro women’s league is the US. Most teams, most players drafted.

@LeeDunneSoccer I understand why some “so-called” clubs that are real small, why they cut kids. Why? They are trying to build 1 or 2 U10 all star teams & they don’t have enough resources or coaches to handle a bunch of kids. They are self serving adults chasing their dream. That is not a “club.”
