Dribbling is first principle, not passing. If you have the ball (no matter the field position) your objective is to score as quickly & easy as possible. The best way to do that is to dribble directly to and into the goal. The market understands this, but often coaches do not.

Important, relevant, inspiring "football gives meaning to life, yes. But life also gives meaning to football." United legend Eric Cantona pens an open letter to the world of football on @PlayersTribune via @playerstribune

Exciting new project called FreePlayGo! Basically paying older kids to play with younger kids in street style (all sports) close to home. The App (due spring) will live feed of active games (all sports) in an Uber-like map, check in /out etc. www.freeplaygo! #playtothepeople

Our methodolgy--without direct instruction--but through comprehensible peer-led scafolding, takes the learners through a natural order in soccer: 1) player v goal 2) player v goalie 3) player v defender(s) and goalie 4) play w/ another attacker v defender(s) plus goalie

👋💪. . When in true play, kids ONLY do it for fun. They produce skillful actions, build athleticism, all UNCONSCIOUSLY--And then are able to reproduce when required WITHOUT the burden of conscious thinking. Working, grinding, to get better cannot match how skillful you can

What I love about long form content is people get a chance to talk and explain soundbites on Twitter. Todd goes into the importance of play over the league acronyms at the younger ages. @_ToddBeane

Holy cow, amazing from Larionov "why are they pushing them to play a simple game? Why aren’t coaches pushing them to create a masterpiece?"

I walked away from an elite club I had built to 66 teams promising that I would never hold another tryout That was ten years ago Here is why you should quit tryouts too.

@LeeDunneSoccer I understand why some “so-called” clubs that are real small, why they cut kids. Why? They are trying to build 1 or 2 U10 all star teams & they don’t have enough resources or coaches to handle a bunch of kids. They are self serving adults chasing their dream. That is not a “club.”

Problem, the better development system is slower, more diverse, more thorough. Often can be a choice between exposure or actual improvement
