These are not the transformers in any TV shows, games or movies, these aren't any versions of these characters anyone has any attachment to
They're just branding, that's why they suck

I feel like Optimus being an archivist should be a larger part of his character.
Just spouting off random historical facts and stories that no one in the story really cares about but it makes for a good way to weave in worldbuilding without it being exposition

Can't go wrong with a massive autobot boat who's not only close friends with Optimus Prime, but also has a pet dog and is voiced by Michele Bell
Step 1: put transformers Animated on Netflix
Step 2: it gains a newly founded cult following because it's a great show.
Step 2.5: new transformers fans
Step 3: Netflix original 4th season/movie
Step 4: transformers becomes mainstream through something other than the movies
Based purely on the packaging, a child with no prior knowledge of the character would probably assume that Nova Prime is some varient of Optimus
Especially since the whole premise of Legacy is different versions of characters, there's no real indication that he isn't Optimus
