In 1997 Harari nationalist parties proposal to EPRDF outlined the merger of all states east of the awash river. Arabic would likely become the lingua franca. A viable alternative to ethnic federalism which ensures the pre menelik territorial integrity of Hararghe.

The other ethnic groups are inferior and landless according to Meneliks constitution. Ethiopia was created for Amhara people. How can you tell a people they can't expand in their own empire? Amharic was the sole main language of the country yet Ethiopia is for all?
