It was a real pleasure to open the brand new forest school at Grantham Prep. Learning about the outdoors, our environment and big skies isn’t just fun, it’s important for future life skills too 🌳

It was great to drop-by the Land of Hops and Glory Beer Festival at @StWulframs . The Grantham CAMRA branch do a terrific job each year, I was pleased to join so many to enjoy produce from our local breweries 🍺

This does not compute with your decisions to cut technology funding. Cutting @Conservatives investment in the next-generation exascale supercomputer and AI Research Resource is incredibly shortsighted. You say one thing and do another.

While Labour continues to talk down the economy, our entire fiscal framework is up in the air. They must urgently clarify their intentions to end the uncertainty and restore confidence.

Labour’s conference closes today. To her credit, the Chancellor didn’t mention sausages in her speech… But the numbers were still overdone.

In Government we Conservatives stood by British pensioners, Labour have left them out in the cold by political choice.

Rachel Reeves once again talking about the ‘£22bn black hole’ in her conference speech yet still can’t point us to the details of that ‘black hole’. Labour have to understand that they’re not in opposition anymore. What they say matters, and they are talking our economy down.

Since taking office @RachelReevesMP has constantly talked down our economy and our country. Consumer and business confidence has unsurprisingly plummeted. It’s about time she recognised the growth, lower inflation, high employment Labour inherited.

Exactly right by @ClaireCoutinho . @RachelReevesMP should come clean and admit that now they’re in Government, Labour have absolutely no intention of keeping their clear pre-election promise to cut energy bills by £300. They never intended to deliver it.

The GB Energy con is unravelling. In the election Labour promised bill savings of £300. Then they stopped repeating the £300 figure as they knew it was a lie. Now Ministers can’t even bring themselves to promise bill savings at all.

If you always talk down the economy, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Incredible how Labour took the best growth in the G7, falling interest rates & rising wages, and still contrived to tank confidence. It’s time they started acting like a Government and not Opposition.

Government is about choices. Labour have made theirs and now they need to be accountable.

In 2017, Labour said withdrawing Winter Fuel Payments would result in 4,000 deaths. Now it’s their policy, they refuse to publish an official impact assessment. The Government needs to urgently disclose the consequences of this choice.

Under Labour’s plans a train driver on over £60,000 will receive a 14% pay rise. Meanwhile, a pensioner living on £13K will have their winter fuel support removed. The public will decide whether that is fair.

Does @mtpennycook sleep well knowing that his government has taken £300 off pensioners? MPs have voted to approve the government's cut to the winter fuel allowance. #KayBurley OM

Pleased to see all the work that @Jeremy_Hunt put in to secure new investment from Amazon come to fruition today with a great announcement for the UK. These deals obviously take time to secure but it was worth the wait as the UK tech sector is a key sector for growth.

Glad the Chancellor is carrying on the work done by the previous Conservative government in securing this investment from Amazon Web Services today. We left the government the fastest growing economy in the G7 - further business investment is key to sustaining that position.

We @Conservatives have a proud record of supporting our pensioners, with 200,000 fewer in poverty since 2010. Everyone deserves respect and dignity in retirement. That’s why I voted against Labour’s decision to withdraw Winter Fuel Payments.
