The guy doesn't understand that it's irrelavant if chess is solved or not.
No human will be able to remember "the solution" so they will continue to play between themselves.
@BillyM2k
I have to say that if he did use Stockfish butt vibes, he deserved to win. At least once.
Computers are so much better than humans at chess, it’s absurd.
I predict that chess will be essentially fully solved (like checkers) within 10 years.
Funny, it says Gukesh beat Fedoseev, but I still see the game in progress.
What's the point of 15-minute delay if FIDE itself publishes the results disregarding it?
🇮🇳 India wins the 45th FIDE
#ChessOlympiad
! 🏆 ♟️
Congratulations to Gukesh D, Praggnanandhaa R, Arjun Erigaisi, Vidit Gujrathi, Pentala Harikrishna and Srinath Narayanan (Captain)! 👏 👏
Gukesh D beats Vladimir Fedoseev, and Arjun Erigaisi prevails against Jan Subelj; India
Kramnik joins Twitter and gets 2k followers in matter of hours.
I cannot get to 3k in almost 10 years!
How about several k as a Christmas present?
Merry Christmas everyone!
@EmilSutovsky

keep repeating "let's debate" but it never happens.
So here's an idea: in Chennai, in a live studio with both of them present, hosted by

Let's make this happen, the world will be watching.
What is the secret of the Indian chess players?
Why are they so good?
I was there when the first wave hit. It was in 2006, at the open tournament in Sort, Spain.
A large group of Indian players arrived to play the opens in Catalunya, including

It has always been a dream of mine to be published by
@NewInChess
. Today that dream came true.
My
@chessable
course on Capablanca's endgames became a book.
What a day!
Garry always had his own definitions, but this time he's wrong.
The World Championship match is the final of the World Championship cycle. The strongest players may not necessarily qualify for it.
Kasparov on the 2024 FIDE World Championship Match:
"The world championship match is the match between the two strongest players. Definitely, that's not the case... it's an interesting match. I can hardly call it a world championship."

I've been reading lately of largely decreased visibility of tweets. To check, can I please ask you to like this message if you see it?
I'm curious to find out how many people actually see my tweets.
Thank you!
I've read a lot of gurus recommend waking up at 4am or 5am to reap unbelievable benefits in life.
I've tried it more than once and I can confidently say that these unbelievable benefits are also available to those who wake up at 10am, which would be my recommendation.
What Kramnik has shown us in recent times are 2 things:
1. We do not (and cannot) know for sure how much cheating occurs online.
2. It is impossible to catch (smart) cheaters based only on statistics.
It's a 10th time that Carlsen uses my recommended 3.Bc4 against the Sicilian.
His score so far: 8 wins and 1 loss (the game today is still in progress).
All the details to be found in my
@chessable
1.e4 Simplified course.
The real question isn't about the quality of Indian chess prodigies, as their exceptional performance in
#FIDECandidates
clearly demonstrated.
Rather, it's about when (not if!) we will see an all-Indian World Championship match.
#Gukesh
""It's missing some people for sure. Abdusattorov with his recent results. You can argue people like Wesley So, Anish Giri, even with their fairly obvious psychological shortcomings." - Carlsen.
Which "fairly obvious psychological shortcomings" does Anish Giri have?
This
#clashofclaims
has been a total disaster.
Imagine a bug that forces poor Kramnik to play the French game after game, while desperately trying to play 1...e5 and the Berlin instead.
I sense the machinations of a certain Ambassador trying to promote their

Thank you everybody who helped me push past Carlsen's dream rating of 2900. The dream to reach 3K followers will have to be postponed for 2024.
As the New Year is around the corner, I'd like to present you all with a small gift, something that is close to my heart. (1/2)
Each country has their way to compose their teams for the chess Olympiad.
My federation and their coach chose not to even ask any of the players above 2400 and chose 2300-rated ones (in addition to one imported GM) who will play practically for free.
Representing one's country is
Nakamura: "It's pretty funny to see Magnus... in the back room eating, he spent like 13 minutes eating noodles, salad and a big pepperoni pizza" 🍕

People stopped playing the QID because of the line we see in Giri-Carlsen. While objectively fine for Black, it was uncomfortable to suffer White's initiative.
Let's see Carlsen's reasons for doing so.

The worst part of this match is that people will get the idea that you can become a World Champion by playing the London.

I don't understand, why are they organising these tournaments if the players don't feel like playing? Even money doesn't motivate them while the rest of the world can only drool at those prizes.

By sheer coincidence, yesterday I helped Pragg's mom and relatives enter the venue at

in Dusseldorf.
They didn't have badges to pass through security so I vouched for them and let them through.
A small gesture to help a great family reunite while Pragg was giving
Amazing precision by Radjabov!
His drawing strategy worked like clockwork: he remained 10th in the world, a whopping 0.1 points ahead of Rapport on 11th!
Definitely new invitations are pouring in.
Hey
@facebook
you suspended my account because my IG account va66rcnzt3jy3tcvw doesn't follow your rules.
I don't have an IG account and obviosuly this is a scam IG account that was somehow connected to my FB. Is your security slacking?
Any advice how to proceed?
Reminds me of Kasparov always whining in the 90s about being tired, low on energy, not feeling great and winning everything nevertheless.
Imagine their results if they were feeling "ok" for a change.
#norwaychess
A wise man once told me that chess is a game of prophylaxis.
Indeed, if you want immediate improvement in your game, try applying prophylactic thinking on every move.
It's not easy, as it takes practice and discipline, but the benefits will be tremendous.
Even Bobby Fischer
Usually it is Petrosian who has been considered the most unconvincing World Champion, but do you think Ding surpasses him in this "feat"?
(Please no mention of Fischer, I am referring to playing World Champions).
I always wonder whether
@chessable
leak courses to some VIPs before publication.
Latest example. Less than 2 weeks before my 1.c4 Simplified is published and, surprise, surprise, Caruana plays it against So.
One of many similar examples over the years... 🤔
"Here Firouzja's being much more practical than he was at the Candidates... he's not on tilt, so he's just being solid, which of course, is perhaps a little bit unfortunate."
On the Women's tournament: "Some kind of really dank prep from Vaishali."

As always, hard work precedes every

course. Now the hard work is done and my Modern Scheveningen is in beta-testing phase.
Looking forward to the feedback and then off to the recording!
@viditchess
It was a pleasure chatting with you after the tournament, I really enjoyed our interview!
Congratulations once again and all the best for Toronto! You will do well!
This was something we, the European players, were not used to.
There came these young and talented players with low ratings who were nearly impossible to beat.
After some time I figured out the problem. In Spanish, I called it siempre molestar.
It means constant harassment.
My work is done. I finished the recording of my new
@chessable
course on the Modern Scheveningen.
Now everything is in the magic hands of the audio and video wizards.

I didn't win, but it's a great honour to have been among the selected few!
Congratulations to the winner, The Secret Ingredient by GMs Markos and Navara.
It's a blasphemy to give Anish Giri only 17% chance to win

after such a magnificent start!

Interesting, isn't it?
