Dumbarton goalkeeper Sam Ramsbottom has gone viral after blasting the ball at his own teammate in the most bizarre own goal ever. 😅
To make things worse, it was his debut... 😳
I'd like to see the data on how many hospitalisations and deaths will be prevented by this decision. Because it feels like doing something solely to be seen to do something.
Could Nikola Katic be the answer to Scotland's centre-half issues?
He's one of the "promising young future Scotland internationals" starting for Rangers Colts tonight.
Kris Doolan here, with the most "completed the rout" goal of all time in Ayr United's 7-0 win over Berwick Rangers yesterday. I won't lie, it took me a long time to work out what on earth actually happened.
Just 380 fans allowed into the 7937 capacity Falkirk Stadium.
But never fear. You can watch a live stream of the game indoors with a pint in the bar at the stadium. Far safer 🤝
If we're just ignoring the result of tests and forcing players to mix regardless of test results why are clubs bothering to spend thousands on testing every week?
🚨 The SPFL have opened disciplinary proceedings against East Fife for failing to fulfil their fixture against Clyde last night.
The match did not go ahead after a positive coronavirus test in the Clyde squad.
Lyall Cameron - on loan to Peterhead from Dundee - being injured playing for Dundee U20s in a competitive game against Peterhead, whilst technically being on loan to Peterhead really sums up the Challenge Cup.
In the time it's taken for this to come out officially from QP's end, Liam Brown has joined East Kilbride, been appointed captain, made his debut and scored his first goal.
I'm going to be honest, that's the most I've enjoyed watching a game on TV for a long time. Five goals, mental tackles, flailing arms in the crowd and, to top it all off, Willo Flood shoving a camera out of his face. Outstanding entertainment.
On a monumental day for the club, we are delighted to announce our partnership with Open Goal and the appointment of our new gaffer, Simon Ferry!

No fans offer more entertainment in the way of booing and seethe than St Mirren supporters. I've missed having them on TV.
McMullan sliced in half - BOOOOO
Ball crosses line and is missed by the linesman - BOOOOOOO
PA: "Could the owner of a white Nissan" - BOOOOOOOOOOOO
After 62 games on the mic, yesterday was the last for me and
@cgrmacmillan
on SonsTV Live. For the time being at least.
When we started off during Covid we were doing something the club had never done before, and I'm incredibly proud of what we managed to do.
So the Lowland League doesn't aid development. But playing in a league against a few Lowland League and Highland League clubs, as well other youth teams will? 🤔
Difficult to see any way forward for Ian Maxwell now after this. Absolutely humiliating for him and the rest of those pushing for this. Completely misjudged the mood of clubs and the strength of feeling.
CONFERENCE LEAGUE DEFEATED 🧵
Make no mistake, the rejection of the Conference League is a humiliation for its architects.
Scottish football fans have stood together in a way that we haven't for over a decade, and in doing so we showed just how much power fans have. (1/4)
Harry Milne is, for my money, very close to being League One's best player. I think he could even do a job in the Premiership too.
On paper that's an outstanding signing for Thistle.
Partick Thistle Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Harry Milne on a pre-contract agreement.
The PFA Scotland cinch League One Player of the Year nominee will join the club on a two year contract.
A Killie fan saying "She's turned the crowd against us" in Limmy's voice after another fan was huckled out will likely not be topped as the highlight of my season.
An embarrassing day for the pyramid. Integrity out the window for a few grand each.
I feel for the supporters of clubs like
@BonnyriggRose
who overwhelmingly rejected this.
The Scottish Lowland Football League can confirm that member clubs have voted in favour of a proposal allowing Rangers and Celtic ‘B’ teams to take part in next season’s competition - for one season only.

Akinyemi has been a bit daft there and maybe given the ref a decision to make. But it blows my mind that Colin Steven is continually given big games. I don't like to criticise refs, but I've never seen him not look out of his depth. Woeful.
It goes from bad to worse for Ayr United!
Dipo Akinyemi is shown a straight red card after this altercation with Aaron Muirhead 🟥
Correct decision? 🤔
#BBCFootball
Oh my god. He's actually put in an official complaint and made the club take the Tweet down.
That's, arguably, even funnier than the Tweet itself. Jesus Christ.
A very good division when you live in central Scotland imo.

Today was one of those days that keeps you hooked. A seven hour round trip, ticking ground 39/42 off, cracking away support, four goals, another clean sheet, five clear. 10/10. Would do again 🤝
Ian Murray has had 299 games as a manager across his time with Dumbarton, Airdrie and Raith. All successful spells. And all coming into a club in crisis.
He was in charge of St Mirren for 21 games and left seven and a half years ago. It's not fair to still judge him on that.
I can't be having Ian Murray getting a gig in the Premiership with Dundee.
He did well at Airdrie, and he's done "ok" with Raith Rovers, but nowhere near enough to merit a top flight post IMHO.
Was an unmitigated disaster with St.Mirren, didn't have a clue!
Congratulations to
@rossco_18
on his 400th career appearance tonight. His senior debut came for the Sons in a 2-1 victory against Berwick Rangers way back in January 2009.
Marked it with assist number eight of the season too.
I refuse to believe there is a better way to spend your Boxing Day than watching a five goal thriller (that also included a red card and a saved penalty) at Cliftonhill.
96 minutes of absolutely superb entertainment.
There were only three of us doing post-match yesterday. And none of us were from SPORTbible. Sigh.
Could've done wonders for my online figures. But here we are.
Just had a call from Joe McKee.
He doesn't have Twitter so he's asked to pass on to
@DumbartonFC
fans that he's loved the past season, and is hugely thankful to the club, Jim Duffy, Hagi and Barry Smith for helping him get back to enjoying his football again ⚽
Wait a minute. Rangers played a guy on-loan from Roma for their youth team in the Challenge Cup? If that doesn't sum up how mental it is allowing these teams into a real competition then nothing does.
Fair play to the wee kid in a balaclava setting off a smoke bomb before the teams came out only to be huckled right away by stewards and chucked out. Terrific effort.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we regret to advise our supporters that we will not be able to live stream tomorrow’s closed door friendly against
@MotherwellFC
.
On your way home? Looking to kill half-an-hour by reading something I've written?
Here's a huge read on Stevie Aitken's 175.7 weeks in charge of Dumbarton Football Club.
A pathetic move from the clubs in favour of this.
Feel for those who voted against it and their supporters having to put up with this nonsense 'one season only' project for at least another two years. Totally devalues what should be a terrific league.
May 2015. I'm in Braehead buying new work shoes. Ian Murray leaves Dumbarton.
October 2018. I'm in Braehead buying new work shoes. Stevie Aitken leaves Dumbarton.
The new man better hope I don't need new shoes any time soon.
Been an absolute honour to be on commentary this season. Thanks to everyone for the nice comments, they really do mean a lot!
All the h8rs can have this picture live rent free in their heads for the rest of time 😎
When the club programme editor, who has been to 2000+ games, says this probably ranks in his top 10 games of all time you know you've seen something a bit special.
What a team. What a cup tie. What a way to spend an afternoon.
⚽️⏪| Prunty? Perfection! 🙌 We will never tire of watching this ridiculous overhead kick from former
@Dumbartonfc
forward Bryan Prunty against Livingston! 😍
#TBT
If Gregor Buchanan kicking the ball off his own face and over the Montrose goalkeeper isn't our goal of the season this year then something is seriously wrong with the world.
A situation I didn't ever think I'd be in, commentating live on a Dumbarton game alongside
@cgrmacmillan
.
Everyone involved on the Sons side can be hugely proud of the final product...and it'll only get better too.
Roll on October 24!
Stamp from Ayrton Sonkur on
@michaelruth09
’s back. Right in front of the referee. No action taken and Sonkur stays on to score a crucial goal. No wonder
@TWPERFORMANCE_
was going nuts at the 4th official. If the
@Dumbartonfc
players weren’t fired up for Friday already…
#spfl
I don't know if anyone could provide further information,
@jasonleitch
perhaps, as to why football was safe with 154.5 cases per 100k (7.5% positivity), no vaccine and no testing. But isn't now with a rate of 84.3 per 100k (4.1%), vaccines and clubs offering to test?
Five hours of driving to see a team with one win in their last eight games, playing the team at the top of the league, and we leave with all three points.
That'll do nicely Sons.
SPFL clubs to meet tomorrow to discuss league reconstruction proposals which - if backed - would see Old Firm colts being admitted to League 2 the season after next.
Get this so far into the sea. Ten team leagues have their flaws, but they are almost always close and exciting.
Expanding to a 44(!) game season leaves no room for a bad winter, plenty of midweek games and would ruin the competition.
All to allow “two colt teams” in.
If Scottish League Two football is your thing then, oh boy, are you in for a treat.
If, however, Scottish League Two football is not your thing. Then I strongly advise that you look elsewhere.
Thursday's podcast!
Shaughan is still living it up in Australia, so this week
@CraigGTelfer
is joined by loan-signing-with-option-to-buy
@Fraser_Clarke
for our weekly lower-league show.
The two undertake a forensic deep dive into League Two.
Listen:
This week's Lennox back page carries a tribute to Gordon Lennon from former
@albionrovers
and
@PartickThistle
teammate and pal
@ScoChap1
as we approach the 11th anniversary of his tragic death a month after captaining
@Dumbartonfc
to the Third Division title.
Remember when B teams were for one season only in the Lowland League...🫠
Sons better vote against this. I've got no sympathy for the Lowland League sides who voted Colts in, but all the sympathy in the world for those who didn't, the HL teams and others who this relegates.
