I’m not annoyed Russell won, but I’m annoyed at the situation as it is the opposite of 2014-2021. Many races in the past Hamilton has wanted to do a 1 stop compared to Rosberg/Bottas on a 2. Mexico 2015, Monaco 2014, Abu Dhabi 2015, Japan 2019 etc, But was always denied and

Mercedes quietly got on with a very different programme this entire test, giving almost nothing away. Did lots of “long” runs on mid-range fuel loads, with no reference. Gives some nice mysteries heading into next weekend. Very interested to see their actual pace, because they

Mercedes doing qualifying glory runs with Antonelli straight away was a stupid idea. He was 7 tenths up in sector 1 alone 😭 Let the kid ease into it, keep the car on track and then throw it around a bit. Now they’ve got a repair job for George before FP2 and no data on the

I don’t think Red Bull and VCARB wish to drop Ricciardo, but you simply can’t lose Lawson at this stage of his career. Big dilemma for sure. That said, if I was Red Bull I would take a punt on Ricciardo for half a season no matter what his recent form has been like.

But it’s not hard to recognise a super talented driver, no matter who you support, and I’m no Leclerc ‘cultist’ (whatever thats supposed to mean) Leclerc at his worst is as good as Sainz at his best. Leclerc at his best is miles ahead of that. ‘Cant drive any car’ by backside

@FormulaUR_ Leclerc cultists buying the book “how to lie with statistics” trying their best to defend the guy. Pathetic. Is very simple. If the guy was on the same level as Max, he would be fast with any car. Leclerc is not on Max, Alonso or Lewis level.

Hamilton fans - or Ferrari fans - complaining about this are either new or just know nothing about F1 in general. Mike Elliot is one of - if not the key figure - behind a lot of Mercedes’ success from 2014-2021. The aero platform Mercedes had - especially in 2018 - was due to

I actually think this clip and quote from Hamilton is consistent with - and sums up - how he’s raced W2W his entire career. He believes the car on the outside should back off when there’s no longer any chance of keeping the position. Historically, whenever Hamilton has been the

It’s sad to see him so downbeat but it also shows how high his standards are. By all metrics, no driver would consider a <1 tenth gap to one of the best qualifiers on the grid a struggle at the age of 39, closer to 40. I think in the heat of the moment, with emotions running

What a lap this was from Lewis Hamilton at the 2018 Australian GP. Pole by other 6 tenths against an equal Ferrari! His best lap of 2018?

All of a sudden I’m much more relieved about Hamilton’s pace. Even in a weekend like this, there was encouraging race pace in old tyres at a venue that he’s historically not been phenomenal at. Had me worried for a few days but now I’m confident for the rest of the season.

When Hamilton leaves, Mercedes will crumble. The reason they’ve fixed their car is because of Lewis’ attitude which I don’t see in any other driver. They were average before him and will be average after him. Look at McLaren after Hamilton in the same regulation set. (1/2)

Verstappen without a dominant car was the only thing making 2020 slightly less dull than 2015 or 2002. Hamilton without a dominant car struggles to stand out vs his teammates and simply doesn’t stand out much in general.
