Fox, Warner Bros. Discovery and Disney are set to launch a new streaming joint venture that will combine all of their sports assets into a standalone app (including ESPN, TNT and Fox Sports).
Michael K. Williams in the Criterion closet, making top notch choices and saying he's been hearing great things about an up and coming director named Steve McQueen
Last year on April Fool's Day I went to a screening of Midsommar Director's Cut at Drafthouse only to be revealed as a joke and it was an early screening of Beau is Afraid. A24 picked up the tab for every seat in the house and as a result, I did a 5 course tasting menu ;)
Before Ebert picked Roeper as his new co-host, he had quite the rotating cast of guest critics. One of the funniest disagreements was with Joyce Kulhawik over Gladiator, Ebert is absolutely fuming at her calling it one of the greatest movies ever made.
Watching a character in Alien Romulus say "get away from her... you bitch" and then hearing a theater applaud like baby seals was a level of cringe I hadn't experienced theatrically in years
Still laughing about the scene in Deep Water where Ana De Armas screams "I don't want to hear that shit again" to her 6 year old for blasting Old McDonald
You know Gene, I have Salo fever! I wish it was called (500) Days of Sodom because that's how long I could spend in this world with all these characters.
It's wild that George Clooney and Julia Roberts have a romcom coming out that would have been a blockbuster event up to about 10 years ago and now it feels like a sneak preview for anyone that doesn't wanna see it on VOD
Let's talk about the acephobic undertones of
#NoHardFeelings
. It's wild to me that in 2023, the premise of a mainstream movie is that a teenager is weird because they don't have sex and that's an issue that needs to be fixed.
Not being hyperbolic when I say the new AMC clip that plays before the Nicole Kidman one with the guy going through different fake movies is one of the worst things I've ever seen in my life and it makes me want to self-immolate every time it plays
@theashleyray
Every time I broke this rule and went beyond coffee/ice cream/etc, I always regretted it. Nothing worse than being stuck at dinner when the vibe check is failing
If you go to Regal Cinemas, you get the Matt Damon crypto ad. If you go to AMC you get Nicole Kidman telling you heartbreak feels good in a place like this. The choice is clear.
This is my son. Heโs 24. I had him at 17. I was told to abort him b/c Iโd be โsaying goodbyeโ to my 20s by having him. I had him. He is a gift directly from G-d Almighty. He is a husband & father of 2, & soldier in the US Army. This is LIFE.

*Trump voice* The numbers for The Gray Man are beautiful, everyone loves the movie,

in 92 countries. They want us to make many more, 110% on Rotten Tomatoes. 110%! That's never happened before. The numbers are beautiful.
The IATSE agreement still allows a 14 hour workday for the crew and the only people celebrating that are higher-ups, tells you all you need to know about this exciting agreement
When I first moved to LA I met a writer who wrote an insanely successful movie that made 10x itโs budget/PA back on domestic box office alone and he never saw a penny in residuals because the studio claimed it didnโt make any profit
For those saying writers (most of whom hold 2nd jobs, btw) are "rich," let me put it in a way that may make more sense to you: 1 script made into a film creates btwn 200 & 1000+ jobs. A successful film brings in 100s of millions+ in revenue, $0 of which is shared with the writer.
Cancelling plans is ok. Borrowing other peopleโs money to place bets is ok. Buying a rare black opal from Ethiopia to sell in an auction scam is ok. Taking the money you made to pay back a loan shark and placing a bigger bet is ok. Do what you need to do to cope.
Brody Stevens was one of the most unique voices in comedy, literally! His cadence was a trademark and his crowd work was one of a kind. This one is hitting extra hard. Having started in LA, he was always a constant and I loved watching him anywhere, time. RIP Brody.
