I'll give this to BATMAN FOREVER: they had a different Batman, Batmobile, Gotham City, tone and visual style, but they kept the same Alfred and Commissioner Gordon, and I don't remember anyone getting hung up on whether it was the same timeline or not. They just went with it.

I still don't think MAD MAX could take place after whatever "The Collapse" is. There are police, hospitals, TV news, ice cream shops. He owns a house, pajamas, a Tor Johnson mask. Green places everywhere. Not post-apocalyptic, just chaotic. (I dig the disregard for continuity.)

I love this movie. Though it seems somewhat forgotten now, it's one of the only old-timey-adventure-hero updates that was actually a big hit. It's just such an appealing mix of action, adventure, sexiness and movie star charisma (plus swords). Likely my favorite Martin Campbell.

Mask of Zoro (1998) is almost like a family friendly action film if it weren't for all the impaling and explosions in the end. Simple but effective fencing choreography with lots of doubling but we get enough shots of the actors where you sometimes forget it's happening.

These fuckin anti-trans people. Why not just say "I don't understand it, but it's not my life, and I support people doing what they want and being happy"? It seems like so much more effort to be a hateful asshole digging a tunnel to the wrong side of history. I don't get it.

Look, I'm not trying to defend what Green Goblin did at the World Unity Festival, but it's worth noting that he vaporized 6 war profiteers, punched 5 cops, and left Macy Gray and her band unharmed. Just for the record.
